Here is a tip i got from Josh at SHONUT:

I heard tapping from my front valve cover as well. I could not find any obvious answer. Josh told me to unhook the vac line from the secondary butterfly valves (essentially just leaving them open) at idle. Tapping went away.
Once I knew what the sound was, it did not bother me anymore, because I knew it wasn't imminent engine doom.

Johnathan told you to do that two days ago!

Weird ain't it. That lucas stuff rocks. The weirdest thing I ever had happen was wat the 91 did. Loud as ****, then gone. Comes and goes. almost 3k miles later havent heard it since

Watch out when it gets cold out. I had 10-40W threw the winter and I always let it warm up fully for 5-10 minutes before I drove it.

I would bet money in the future that you will hear the engine run rough and shake the car. One of the pistons won't fire b/c the valve will stick close. 91 did it once for 1-2 minutes. I thought it ws gonna blow up. But it hasn't yet and still beats 5.0s

You didn't fix anything, you put a band-aid on it.

I am plenty aware of that... i put that in my post on my local forum but forgot to put it up in this one so for the record the problem is still here i just put a very expencive band aid on it.

A spun bearing would turn on your oil pressure light

Very true...I can personally attest to that. No oil light, passed cylinder balance test and no shards in oil. How about that. But that thing was welded together like siamese twins...

Almost positive that is not a spun bearing. I think it might be your chains. Most likely the rear chain. Maybe the tensioner (which works with oil pressure) is stuck - leaving slack in the chain.
