Dude that really sucks man. I hope things work out for you. Did you not get the memo about the TPS reports?

Sorry, just hoping to make you laugh.

Damn, and not two days after you put your new sig pic in. If that's not cruel irony, I don't know what is.

Sorry to hear it, bro. Don't suppose it's too late to join the military?

Man I've been there twice in the past two years, once was my fault the second time I was laids off because I was taking my vacation due to the birth of my first son. They told me to take all the time I needed.

I know how you feel and while it doesn't help, your not alone. This whole country is ******.

File for unemployment. If the job loss was your fault, they will probably deny it but you can still appeal.

Good luck...

This sux. I know how you feel as it's happened to me twice in the last year as well. Both were indefinite layoffs. Now I have a job where I barely work because of weather and it's been slow. I completely feel you on this.

What kind of job would you be looking for? That way we can keep an ear open.

Too make light of it, at least we didn't trade cars now and your stuck with a payment.

what really sucks about it is being let go for something as stupid as a paperwork error.

Raise your hand if you've never, ever screwed up paperwork. i should be seeing zero hands.

It's ******** that businesses are firing people for clerical errors unrelated to your real job (IIRC, in curt's case working on cars), but that's the economy today. Businesses are coming up with any reason they can to shed people. Whoever screws up first gets fired... it's a dicked up way of doing business but *sigh* what can you do?

Even in the military, offenses that would've earned you a slap on the wrist even five years ago will get you separated in a heartbeat nowadays. Involved in any sort of incident that involved alcohol? See ya later. Fail a physical fitness test? Buh bye. Don't advance fast enough? Hasta luego! I had to put in a request to re-enlist. I had to ASK if I could stay on another four years. Everybody that's been in for less than 10 years has to. And a fair number are being told "nope, have fun not finding a job!"

It's a ****** time for everybody. I'm terrified to get out right now... in no job I could get would I have any semblance of job security. And I'm pretty damn qualified... that's the worst part.

I was told by my former CEO many years ago that there is no such thing a job security. However there is employment security, by keeping educated and taking training to keep yourself valuable to the company. Fortunately the company has a lot of web based training to keep yourself educated. The days of working for a company for life is pretty much over. I am over 50 and could get laid off at any time. I just don't worry about it since it is something I have very little control over, but I do take as much training as I can and keep up my certifications such as CNA, Green Belt and MCSE current.
