I was under the hood manually pressing the throttle because my throttle cable was sticking a WOT and I noticed something. Where the airbox sucks in air from the front fender,it appears that the molding around the air box to the fender panel opening has pretty much deteriorated. I'll take some pics tomorrow to better show this. Shouldn't there be a tight seal around the fender opening in to the air box? And because I mentioned it already, anyone else ever have the problem of the throttle sticking at WOT? My cruise control is disconnected, as this was causing a problem before, but it's becoming a pain once again.

I would start out by checking your throttle cable. They can go bad over time and start binding up. Disconnect it from the throttle body and activated it manually. The cable inside the housing should slide back and forth effortlessly. As for the air box, yes there should be a good seal between the box and the body. You should go to Home Depot and get some weatherstripping and replace the worn one.

The cable feels fine, but I will probably replace it anyways. But before I do, could my problem be the result of a failing sensor, particularly the one that's located on the front of the throttle body? Could this sensor actually press down the gas pedal in the car if it were failing?

Thanks,
Mike

No , NOTHING pushes the pedal , and no sensor will do that either. If the TPS fails , it will go in failsafe (idle position)

Look of carpet sticking with your pedal , jammed cable or throttle plate , this is a mechanical problem.
