So I got the kit installed, downloaded the 93 stage 5 meth tune. I know I have to tune the initial and ramp on the big box. I had work so I can't tune in until later. I had everything set the way Julio told me too start at. My main concern os that I'm not making any more boost than I was making on the 93 stage 4x race tune. I was making between 11-12psi on that tune and I'm doing the same on this tune. I either have a boost leak or I screwed up downloading the stage 5 meth tune. It's no faster than it was before. I still have about 2100 psi at the rail to red line and 11-12 psi until red line with no kr all the way too red line. Any thoughts? I'm kind of bummed.

Mos def sumthin wrong somewhere.

Meth user(s) have seen an overall average of .5 to .6 tenths faster in the 1/4 with meth in play.

For sure start double checking connections, wiring, the tune etc.

I was going to check tune first. I'm getting a green light. When I hit the test idling it turns green and it bogs so I know I'm getting meth.

Respectfully BPD1151 is not correct here. That is normal.

There is nothing wrong. The stage 5 meth tune does not add any boost. I have extensively datalogged both the LMS meth tune and the LMS 4+X race tune.

They both target the same amount of boost and spark. Period. I too was frustrated and spent quite awhile going back and forth with LMS about it.

They do change a few things in the tune such as throttle control for the load... but that’s it. They may allow spark to be a bit higher around 4K rpms but it’s probably more to do with IAT compensations.

After talking with Dave, Cody, Anthony, Ethan (who is no longer there), and getting information back from their calibrators... the target boost is the same and they will not add anymore remotely. If you want more power you need to have them dyno tune the car. And even then, they all have told me the remote tunes are very close to what the dyno tune is... maybe 15awhp to be gained...

They will tell you the biggest benefits are top end spark from lower intake temps and fuel rail pressure consistency all year round...

If you have any questions please feel free to pm me... but I highly doubt there is anything wrong....

And to properly tune that Alky setup you need to datalog it to get it dialed in. You can get pretty close if you are attuned to how the car runs and use the good ol butt dyno..

Next I'll check for boost leaks. The only pipe we took off was the intercooler out to t-body. If I hook up the programmer in run with car off will it tell me what tune is downloaded?

Yes, it should display with the last tune that was flashed when you go to tune it....

Ok, that makes me feel better I guess. My car ripped with the stage 4 race tune and boostane pro octane booster. I never had kr at wot at any rpm. I'll have to tinker with it a bit.

If you dig around my older posts there was one where I went into this... probably several...

Each car is a bit different as to where the sweet spot is for the gain, initial, and start....

My car ran best when the meth came in at start with 7psi on a low initial with gain around 6.5 iirc...

Also, you can run that tune without meth... so if you run out, no need to worry about switching tunes till you get home.

After a bunch of tuning and datalogging I think I have it tuned in the best I can without being on a dyno. It is a little more snotty than the 93 stage 4x race tune. It feels like it has more midrange. The beat part is the iat2's drop 10-25 deg F when spraying. Fuel rail pressure at red line never goes below 2100psi and it holds 11-12 psi of boost to red line. No kr at wot to red line and never anymore than 1.5 at part throttle anywhere. I'm holding 22-23 deg of timing @ red line also. I can't say enough about the quality of the alky kit. It's awesome! Julio from alky was very helpful and happy to answer any questions I had. A shout out to bdp1151 for his installation write up. Saved me a ton of time. Also much thanks too StealBlueSho who was very helpful in tuning the meth. I ended up with start around 6.5 psi, initial is approx @ 10 o'clock and gain is at 6.5. I will play with it some more when I get to the track but I'm more than happy with it the way it is. Much thanks to LMS for a great kit and a good and safe tune!

Glad it worked out! Sorry I never replied about the datalog... you can shoot me one... I just need to download the torque software to view it.

And I cannot stress enough how solid a kit Alky Control is and how awesome Julio is in his post sales support.
