Add this with my new Borla exhaust and I feel like I have created somewhat of the perfect daily driver. Swift, docile, tamed, yet an animal when need be. The Borla has a nice down low grunt and rumble like a Subie STI, somewhat like a v8, and has a nice growl as you increase the revs. Hopefully I find someone with a decent video camera soon to make a good video for everyone to hear. It sounds completely different than the Corsa. I would say its rather loud for just a cat back exhaust too.
Hope this helps some of you guys on the fence. Feel free to ask any questions.
My fault for really calling it 5 in the first place. Dan had a couple different tunes we were testing and ultimately the best of all that ended up being Stage 4. Not to say things won't change and improvements won't be made. In my opinion there really only has to be one stage w/ and w/o torque management maybe. But that's my personal opinion...give me the tune that runs the best and that's the only stage u need.
Were you able to get a video?
To the best of my knowledge the Stages are as follows (I'm sure Rick will jump in if I'm wrong) Stage 1 trans stuff only Stage 2-tuning with torque management on. Stage 3-tuning with torque management off Stage 4-"Race" tune without any torque management and preferred to use a little race fuel but I've been driving on it with 93 octane and beat on it and have had no issues.
I again apologize for even mentioning the "Stage 5". It was just testing different timing boost stuff but everything that worked was put together to be the current Stage 4 tune
The stage 1 has transmission modifications with reduced torque management
The stage 2 and 3 tunes are identical, except the stage 2 has torque management and the stage 3 does not.
The Stage 2 has raised boost, increased timing, and transmission modifications with reduced torque management.
The Stage 3 has raised boost, increased timing, and transmission modifications with no torque management.
The has 4 has more boost, more timing, and no torque management. Our tuner Dan said he would recommend higher octane with the stage 4, however Darreli and several others are running it daily with 93 octane and no issues.
Thank you,
Rick
The Stage 4, Dan recommends running some higher octane mix for safety but ive been running it for months now in hot and cold weather with 93 octane without a single issue
Great, I received my tune today (in a very timely matter0 but now there's the problem I've been fearing...computer says it can't open the files, and I have no idea how to get the files open. If anyone can walk me through this I would appreciate the help...I really have very little knowledge about working a computer and I'm feeling pretty frustrated at this moment.
