Hey Guys,

2015 SHO with PP/ 14k miles
Technically still under 5 year warranty.
I completed the Engine Noise maker delete and the Catch Can install.

Now moving towards the Hurricane Bundle :
3Bar MAP Sensor, 160 Thermostat, Windstorm Cold Air Intake and The Livernois Tune.

Any advice on the bundle or the install?

Thanks

Echoing what myself and Tech said.

I would only use the 3 bar. The whole T-Tstat is a gimmick. Sorry boys that 5 hp isn't worth the extra wear and tear by having the engine run outside it optimal operating temp. 95 % of the Cold Air Intakes have been proven time after time to pick up zero performance on the SHO. A drop in K&N will yield you a better gains.

Pick up a 3 bar on line, get a K&N filter, choose a better tuner and tuning device. You will save money, have more performance, and run a safer tune. AJPTurbo is my choice, but Matt at Gearhead is doing some great things. His Auto Octane tune is spot on.

Do some reseach about Livernois. There are numerous threads on this site about the disappointment and disapproval of LMS tunes over the past year. There are better tuners, tuning devices, and cheaper upgrades then what LMS bundles.

Don't get caught in the hype.

Like SM105k said, do yourself a favor and read the threads about LMS in the gen4 performance upgrades section and decide for yourself. I will just say I have personal experience in this area, and leave it at that. If I were you, though, I’d save a bunch of money and skip the cold air intake, grab a 160 or 170 degree t-stat and a used SCT X4, and go directly to the Gearhead auto octane tune. You will LOVE how your SHO drives. I miss mine every day since I had to sell her to fund the new truck.

Any tune risks your warranty. Anybody who says otherwise is lying to you. As long as you put your car back to stock before taking it to the dealer and you don’t show up with holes in the pistons or something, the risk is pretty minimal they’ll dig that deep, though.

Thank you for the info guys,
My research on the Livernois Tune is about a year old.
Just getting ready, so I'm glad I got the updates.

Interesting comment on the thermostat and it makes sense.
Also, interesting that a K/N filter only would be an improvement over stock.
(Honestly, if I can get a Cold Air intake with a Red filter; I'd do it just for show.)
You advice will be taken to heart, and look into the other tunes.

Unless the CAI is completely sealed and has a ram air like the stock one.....any CAI is a waste of money. I think the only one worth a crap is the EPP.......

However at $455 dollars I cannot justify spending it for. My K&N drop in is just fine with my power level.

I have what is in my signature and my car made 391 hp and 470 tq to the tires, pre DP's install on E30. The power the AJP and GearHead tunes can get out of these cars is amazing and safe. My SHO E30 tune only, made more power and went faster at the track then 95 percent of LMS full bolt on (intake, DP's, full exhaust, 93 octane and meth) SHO's.

LMS cannot and will not touch those numbers because of in house safeties. They will not do custom tuning unless it is on their dyno ect. It was those "in house safeties and rich is better philosophy" that lead to fuel pressure problems and lead many people to abandon LMS.

Considering I do have a '94 Mustang that is being neglected, I am going to hold off on the tunes.
Vehicle has on 14k miles and still under warranty.
I will get the cold air for looks and then maybe head to down pipes.

But I might consider the ECOPOWER cold air induction, it looks so cool.
Get it powder coated.
I can see why it might work better off to the side.
My Mustang actually goes under the wheel well flap and get air from outside the engine compartment. That works well.
Thanks again for the advice.

There was a link on their website for a "Hot Pipes Kit". Any thoughts on what it might add to performance or is it just for looks?

If you are running the 3Bar Map higher pressure and tune they claim the plastic stock tubing eventually leaks so it is a good long term upgrade. Saving any possible lost power would be the only upgrade and if you wanted to color coat it.

I emailed them and plan to call and discuss their products before I decide which ones to purchase.
I have the engine noise eliminator in Red, so I want to get a red filter and then possibly this set up, but it would run $700.............I need to wait on that

Here is everything that they offer for our platform. All are quality parts and you truly get what you pay for. To answer your question, do they add performance? No. They however have the ability to keep performance in check when upgrades with increased boost pressures.

Thanks.
I am actually in discussion with them now about getting all the pipes upgraded.
However, I am going to hold off on the tune upgrade for a while.
Issues with LMS have got me spooked.

I've have the hurricane bundle but have moved on to Gearhead due to LMS having issues and my tune being unsafe in cold weather. I still use the CAI sometimes however the stock airbox with a drop in filter will be fine. I recommend looking at another tuner. Most have a bundle package with the 3bar and plugs. As far as the hot pipes i know a couple people with fitment issues. I have about 67k miles with over 40k tunes on the stock into piping so I don't find it to be a necessity but piece of mind.

I was looking forward to the Hurricane Bundle, I did all the research last year when I bought the car. Sorry to hear LMS is no longer reliable. I decided to pass for a while on the tunes.

I am going withe the ecopower pipe upgrade and cold air intake, because I do believe it has the best chance for "cold air" induction, I like the set up. And mainly for color coating purposes to make it look nice.
I'll worry about tunes next year or so, car is quite quick already

don't be afraid of a tune as this is the best thing you can do to the sho!!
Just look at everybody's signature and you will soon find who's tunes are doing the best! And a little time on youtube will give you a good Idea too.
I waited too long to tune mine and this was a lot of fun missed!

This. With the money he will spend on the the HOT Pipes and intake......he could have an awesome tune and really enjoy the how the SHO was suppose to be from the factory.

Yup, the hot pipes and intake will look pretty if your looking under the hood, but a good tune will change the car completely.

Unless you want to invest $1600 in the Firestorm HPFP... I would avoid LMS.

Grab an SCT device, a tune from Gearhead (or one of your liking), and 3 Bar map..

Just my .02

How far down the rabbit hole do you want to travel.... starts with a tune... ends in divorce, debt, and a poorly running car if you go with LMS....
