when I'm at low rpm, and then hit the gas. What would cause this? I tested the alternator, and it puts out 13.9 with all accessories on, and 14.2 with all of at idle. I went to Autozone today, they tested the battery, and said it was bad (when a load was put on it, it went to 9v, and continued dropping). Since I bought it there originally, I got a warranty replacement for free. I cleaned my terminals, and then installed in the parking lot. Drove for a few minutes, and everything seemed fine, but then it happened again. Got home, and readings were exactly the same. What causes this? Does this happen to others?

Thanks.

Is the belt slipping? or did something get spilled on it? kind of sounds like that but im sure you would have heard that? I assumed they checked the alternator while checking the battery. good luck

It's the alternator. Car started cutting out on the way to work this morning, and as it was cutting out, the lights would dim. Fun stuff. Good thing it's under warranty.

when i had my 91 it looked exactly the same as my 92 and 95, but, what could be different is bolt lenth. However it is not 100% correct info, because i never tried in on my 95.

Ran more tests at a friend's shop, it's not the alternator. Checked and cleaned all chassis grounds. Curious, how much voltage is the fan motor supposed to pull? When mine turns on, voltage drops to from 14.2 to 12.5v, or below.

there is something with the way these motors work or that relay, or something with it, I can even feel in my car that when it kicks in, it really drains the battery.

They are not interchangable.

Art5: Hmm...well, I'll wait for an answer on how much it's supposed to draw, or if mine is drawing to much. Thanks though.
