So on Dec. 15th, my brother and I drove from Phoenix, AZ to WI for Xmas. About 3. hrs into our trip, all the instrument cluster lights went out, and about 2 more hrs down the rd we realized we had no marker lights, or tail lights, juat the headlights were on.

so we stopped, checked all the fuses, pulled out the switch, and ended up jumping the harness to get the lights on so we could get home.

Well we got up to WI, I got a new headlight switch, and the lights still don't work. So it is not the switch, and not the fuses. 3 days later now the turn signals stopped working, and the fuse is fine there as well.

Antbody have any ideas?

All the lighting goes through the MultiFiunction Switch. It is the turn signal wiper stick thing jutting out of the steering column. Maybe $50 for a new one. You can take them out and soak them heavily in WD40 while working all the functions to make them good as new, sometimes. Worth a try as it needs to come out anyway.

The end cap pops off for the wiper contacts. This will be full of hard grease. Clean this out and apply some vasilene type grease lightly.

So when you say soak, you are saying I can literally dunk it in a bucket of WD-40. I just want to make sure there isn't any going where it shouldn't be. Thanks.

I just squirted a half a can in evey crevice and hole. Then worked all the switches and squirted some more until I used a whole can. Took some compressed air and blew it all out.

On the end cap where the wiper contacts are I pried the cap off and took out the spring and contact. Then used some contact cleaner to get the old hard grease out. Smear in a small amount of vasiline and put it back together.

Ok, so I took it out, sprayed it down, and reinstalled it. The signals work now, and the hazards work (hazards haven't worked since I bought the car.

The markers, tails, or cluster lights still don't work though -- do you still think the MFS is still the problem there) I already tried a new headlight switch. Thanks.

I have the procedure for electrically testing all the functions of the MFS in a word doc format if you want it.

Well I have a friend that I am going to see today that has a new switch for me, so I guess I am just going to try that out. I am thinking that has to be where the problem is. Everything is fine going into the headlight switch -- fuse relays etc. So I will just pop it back out and swap in the new one. Thanks.
