Check your wiring where the wires go through the front of the door from the engine compartment and/or fender. Sounds like you may have something that has been disconnected, or broken with the door opening and closing.

I agree with the wiring harness in the door jamb area. A quick check is to hold the window switch up or down and wiggle the wiring harness. A lot of times the window will momentarily work when wires are wiggled, then you know where your problem lies.
