Is it just me or is anyone else frustrated that the SHOs don't turn on the front LED lights for day time?

I see all these cars driving around w/ the cool LED lights on during the day and yet the SHOs (at least my 2015) has them but they only turn on if I put on the parking lights. Which I've done 3 times now and each time I left them on after getting out of the car as I am so used to the automatic lights always being on. I did it as recent as today and decided I'll never take off the automatic lights again.

Is there any MOD for having the parking lights turn on automatically while the cars running?

Check into what is done on the Canadian SHOs. They are required to have some sort of white "running lights" on the front of the car. In the past, it has been some sort of reduced voltage to the headlights, but who know how they do it now, since there are LEDs available.

You can have your dealer redirect which lights to use for DRLs, though many may not be aware they can do this via IDS. You will also love the Drivebright line of lighting products. Many people have them on their SHOs.

I got these! They're fregin awesome! And when you engage the turn signals the white LEDs turn off and a set of very bright amber LED lights come on as the turn signal - they look absolutely stock/OEM and not some kind of POS aftermarket crap - look like they came with the car! And, there's a dimming option when you turn on your headlights the LEDs decrease to 80% power for night use which I recommend! These are the same brightness as other manufacturers LED DRLs.

Oma,

Are those the Drive Bright ones that I posted the link to in the 2nd post?

If not, what brand, price and where did you order those from?

Only the turn signals can be used for DRL on a SHO. IDS does not allow any other lights to be used for the SHO

I knew the turn signals could, didn't know that was the only alternative. Thanks, Jason!

Ordered them this morning, along with their new design puddle lights.

I would encourage you to contact Dan Smith, the CEO. He is a wealth of ingormation on this stuff.

I bought the DriveBright DRLs the week they became available. They're terrific. The LEDs are also bright enough to drive without using the headlights, which is funny.

If you like to lurk in your car, though, I'd suggest finding a way to install a cut-off so you can run the engine without the DRLs giving away your position. After a nighttime run through the twisties, I like to chill and skywatch while the engine cools, but the DRLs seem tacky when you're parked in a lot.

Update,

I ordered the LED lights from Drive Bright and got them installed today. I only got them working and yet to hook them up to the turn signals. Overall, I LOVE THEM! They are super bright!

The below picture doesn't do the lights justice. They are WAY brighter in person. I will post more photos in the next day or so.

At $230 they were a bit pricy but I'm happy with them.

Oma,

Did you have any headaches wiring up your lights?

I ordered the courtesy light wiring but can't seem to get it to work. The instructions say to run the blue wire to the center wire of the turn signal wiring harness. Did that and didn't work. I called Drive Bright and was told to try running the blue wire to the old wiring harnes of the fog light and I get power to the blue wire when I lock/unlock the car but it seems to stop at the first splice that the blue wire goes to and doesn't activate the lights.

Also, I'd like to hook up the dimming trigger that is supposed to be hooked up to the headlight wiring harness but it looks like my 2015 has HID lights and I don't see a traditional wiring harness that would normally go to the bulb. Did you hook up the trigger and how so if you didn't?

I would also be interested in the dimming wire connection. I got my Drive Bright DRL lights installed and absolutely LOVE them. Turn signals are all hooked up but I can't find an easy way to access the wire harness for the "white" wire that is supposed to dim based on the headlights being on. It's really buried down there...that said I am fine with them at full brightness and may decide to keep them this way as they are indeed almost like a good set of fog lights at night and I don't appear to be blinding anyone with them.

I was one of the first customers to order these lights and don't think the "courtesy light," was an option. What exactly is that?

As for the dimming wire - yes, the headlight harness is absolutely buried behind the headlight and the a bunch of plastic and metal, etc!! My car was at the Ford dealer for a free oil change and a recall on the license plate lights - gave the tech a $20.00 bill and he hooked them up for me. He did more than $20.00 worth, he actually used the correct way to attach wires with heat shrink shield and so forth. So, I need to go back and wrap the connectors that are attached for the turn signals in electrical tape because moisture can get into those and cause issues.

The courtesy light harness allows the fog (now driving lights) to power on when opening the door/locking/unlocking the car like the factory lights did.

Also Oma, in your sig you have that you added new badges. Got any photos? The SHO Ecoboost badge just doesn't scream cool to me.. Frankly, anything that says Eco sounds kinda numb IMO..

Yeah this is cool - I'm on the Drive Bright site now and gonna order the courtesy light adapter, only $14.50 - not bad!! This is real cool!

My rear end!...;) The left badge says, "3.5 TWIN TURBO"
