I have owned my 2010 SHO for 2 years now and still feel that I don't have adequate knowledge of turbo chargers or direct injection. I just recently purchased 86 Mustang SVO and 03 Lightning. So I have a formiddable amount of forced induction that I would like to learn much more about.

I have been playing with cars for 15 years or so. I know my way around enough to keep me from the dealership or repair shops, unless I get far too lazy or lack proper equipment.

So my question really is:
Where can I obtain really good information about forced induction (primarily gasoline), intercoolers, methanol, direct injection, etc.? Is there a good book/books that are for purchase? I understand the internet is vast knowledge universe, but I will be deploying in about a month and need something to get me "excited"

Thanks

Just about everything I've learned on cars that wasn't jumping in and taking crap apart was with YEARS of sifting through the Internet. Obviously everything said on the Internet won't be correct, but if you have the time and patience to sift through and find the good stuff, you're likely to find much better/newer information with many first-hand experiences this way.

look up a series of articles from Sport Compact Car entitled "Suck, Squish, Bang, Blow" for some basics and go from there. That magazine has taught me a disturbing amount of automotive knowledge, and damn the people who shut it down.

I recommend doing a Google search for the various topics you want to get more info on. There are some really good W/M articles out there. I also bought some books on Amazon that had good info. (They are in FL and not here). Remember that many things are affected by Direct Injection, so you need to consider that and how it works with everything else.

Good Luck!
