I wonder if the couple that have had the stumble and/or stall on "multiple occasions" ever took the car to the dealer with the complaint. It seems like most of us on this forum who have had the complaint also had it quickly resolved by our dealers through a re-flash and/or updated valve body in the transmission. And of course that's after confirming the knock sensor wires were not the issue.

Is the US at a point where it's more convenient to file a lawsuit than to schedule an appointment at a dealership?

Well the pickup issue has already been addressed by FORD. The intercooler actually works too well and gets moisture in it and the the throttle opens up it sucks up water. There is a TSB on that isssue. Most people just drive and rather ***** or sue then to find a solution to the problem. Im sure the the SHO is the did a google search they could find just about and problem and solutuons to them too. Just my two cents on that.

I thought people were still having issues with the F-150 after the deflector was installed?

I agree a lot of problems can be resolved by a good service department. The problem I've experienced is finding a good service department. They always seem disinterested in trying to fix problems that they can't replicate, instead of taking the customer (me) word for it. I plan on taking in my 10' sho next week to get an oil change and try to make sure it is up to date on any tsb's.

Anyone have a preference for dealers in the detroit area? I know there are a few people on here from the area. Thanks

That is because customers, a lot of the time, are literally the world's biggest retards. Seriously, hang out at a service department for a while once. Life's good until you hear the words "Cadillac comforter". THAT'S A CATALYTIC CONVERTER YOU ****** HICK

Ha! My boss called it a Cadillac convertible before. I know the majority of people are uninformed and not educated to the ways of dealership service, but when their is a legitimate problem and they act like your an ****** ut's frustrating.

Sign me up! I had this, no dealer was any help. Ford was no help. Finally sold the car resulting in a many thousand dollar loss but it no way seemed safe.

Those of you thinking the dealers are there to help with this issue please just note some may be, but mine 100% were not! I should print this article, blow it up triple size and mail it to the dillhole service manager here in town that told me I was just being too picky.

Had the same issue last year, 2010 SHO, about 26k miles. Car would be running fine and then just start shuddering, check engine light would come on and the car wouldn't get out of it's own way.....My local ford place finally fixed it, but was unsure how. They replaced every piece of the intake system. 3 visits, codes they couldn't decipher, but they got it. It's run like a champ ever since (another 20k miles), but the crazy rattle at startup persists...seems to be getting worse...

I'd check the motor oil being used on the car, has to be the right weight. Also, inadequate lubrication to the cam phasers has been known to cause the startup rattle.

Does the 2010 sho still take 5w20 or 5w30?
Also, is there any tsb for the startup rattle? My car makes it only when cold, and only 75% of the time.

Per the Owner Guide found here, 5.5 quarts of 5w20 of Motorcraft Synthetic Blend is the spec.

Not aware of a TSB specific to the SHO for the startup rattle, I am drawing an inference from the F150 engines that share similar problems/lineages. There IS a TSB for that, may be helpful.

I recall reading a thread in this, or another forum about the startup rattle, and it is worse with different brands of oil filters. Try a Motorcraft to see if it improves, (i forgot what the brand was that was causing the start-up rattle).

There was a discussion on oil filters elsewhere early in 2010. It was pointed out that there is a bypass valve in them to allow more flow if engine needs it. When this happens varies based on filter design, so after reading the article I decided to stay with EB Motorcraft filters and have had none of these issues.

Wondering if the water issue in intercooler is not affecting the EB Flex, or perhaps my Carriage Works grille which required removing the restrictive backing of the stock Flex grille, actually helps limit condensation in the intercooler.

I hate to not dump on the dealer, but I have to say, my dealer is/has been great. I had a 2011 Mustang GT/CS with the MT-82. I NEVER had a problem with it. Ford came out with a TSB for a fluid change for colder climates, if needed. I took the Mustang in and they changed the fluid, which had to be ordered. Took all of three days, and then 45 minutes to do the change. They also replaced my rear axle vent with the updated version, and when I asked them to check for a diff noise, they replaced two gears, but the tech was not satisfied with the car, and called Ford. He told them he felt a slight vibration when driving it. Ford overnighted a new driveshaft, and it was installed the same day. The dealer had the car for three days, and I had a rental, on them. The Mustang had 27,000 miles on it when I traded for the SHO. I have not had the SHO back for service yet, but I believe I will still get the same service. Sad thing is we never hear about the good dealers, only the bad ones. As for the SHO, to keep this on thread, I have a little over 4400 miles on her, to include a 1200 mile round trip to Colorado, right into the big snow storm. We were at Estes Park, and the SHO was fantastic. No hesitations, or drivability problems, so far.

Ive found dealers to be very hit or miss. Some are amazing and do everything to the best they can and will be very upfront with you, while others have easily earned the "Stealership" nickname.

I agree. The Ford dealer I had back in Nova Scotia (Mosher Motors in Bridgewater) was amazingly good. The one just up north of me in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island is OK, but not close to the level of Mosher. The most difficulty I have had in the past has been with Chrysler dealers and up their admin chain, to the point where I will never buy a vehicle again that services via Chrysler.
