I am considering buying new Koni's shock/struts for my 1995 SHO. I have read that you must use your stock casings to install the new Koni's in. can someone please tell me how to do this, or point me to a link that has the instructions. Can they be done in one day with hand tools?

thanks
Terry

It can certainly be done in one day by an moderately experienced wrencher with a well stocked tool chest. The proceedure is the same for all four corners. Pretty good instructions come with the Konis.

Remove the strut/spring assembly.
Disassemble using spring compressors.
Drill hole in the bottom of strut to relieve pressure and drain oil.
Cut top of strut off (sawsall works well) and remove guts.
Slide Koni insert into empty housing and bolt thru hole in the bottom.
Re-assemble.

Does anyone have pictures of this for reference? I'm thinkin of doing this in the spring but don't want to mess up the housing's and have it be even more costly than it already is...
