Ok, I just want to make sure I'm ordering the right parts.

On Shox.com, they list only one Koni option for the 89-95 SHO (no part numbers).

On proamauto.com, they list two options for Konis for the Taurus:
http://www.proamauto.com/page15eaq.htm

Year: 86 - 5/92
PN: 8641-1287 (front)
PN: 8641-1288 (rear)

Year: 6/92 - 95
PN: 8641-1287 (front)
PN: 8641-1323 (rear)

So according to this, they offer two different rear struts depending on the model year. That seems to make sense considering all this talk about the tubes from certain years being longer than others.

I'm planning to get the ones from shox.com (free shipping), but it just seems strange that they dont mention the difference between years.

I assume that my '93 on its original suspension has the long rear strut tubes, which would work properly with the shox.com kit. Right?

TIA,

Nathan

Actually, your 93 will have the "short" rear struts. It's the 89-4/92 SHO's that had the long version. So you want to order: 8641-1287Sport 8641-1323Sport.

I checked Koni's site and they also only list the short version for the SHO. But they still list the long version for the SLO strangely enough.

Thanks for the insight..

Now I'm a bit confused, as I would have expected mine to be the longer ones.. I'm basing this off of what I saw on Josh's site:

http://www.shonutperformance.com/Performance.htm

V6 Koni Strut Inserts, Front and LONG BODY Rear (4) (does NOT include bumpers or bellows) (LONG BODY is 4" from the rear strut pinch bolt centreline to strut housing bottom)

or

V6 Koni Strut Inserts, Front and SHORT BODY Rear (4) (does NOT include bumpers or bellows) (SHORT BODY is 2.25" from the rear strut pinch bolt centreline to strut housing bottom)

I went out and had a look, and it's about 4" from the bottom of my strut to the pinch bolt. so do I have the long ones?? (even though the all the other indications say that the 93 should use the short ones)....

My 93 had long struts when I bought the car. Most likely your car, like mine, has had the struts replaced at some time in the past. Whoever replaced them knew that they could install either the long or short version. Both types fit all G1 & G2 SHOs. If yours measure 4" as Josh's description explains, then you have long ones and should buy the long Konis.
