Hey folks! I just picked up a new ride, and it came to me with konis and eibachs. I was going to try and adjust these somewhat to see how it affects the ride quality and handling. What I want to know is, is there some "stop" on the adjustment **** for full soft or full firm? You know, will it only turn so far one way or the other? I have no idea what it is set at right now. Also I haven't even looked at them. TIA

Yes. There are stops in both directions. I wish there were other indicators through the range to get an easy middle or quarter/third turn match.

I don't have Konis and I've never used them, but I thought full soft was all the way one direction and full hard was one full turn from there.

Thanks Luigi, I thought that would have stops in the adjustment ****, but for some reason I thought I read on here, that you could ruin the struts by adjusting them to far. I was wrong, which in this instance... is good! Thanks again!

Rob,
I'm not sure you're wrong there. You have me wondering myself. I have them set soft for now. I know you are supposed to break them in on full soft for a while but as far as turning them too far shrug . I would send the guys at Koni (America) an email to be sure. Their response time is usually pretty quick.

I don't know when the Koni's were installed. Since it was the third previous person who owned the car who installed them. I do know that it has been atleast 6000 miles since they were installed. The history is as follows. Some guy in Illinois had the car. Probably second owner. He had a problem with over heating. He took it to a ford dealer, and they said it needed new heads. They barely looked at the car. Kinda of disturbing there huh?!?! Don't know what dealership, but it was in the naperville/aurora area. Anyways, Well the guy paid the diagnosis fee, and towed the car away. It sat... in pieces, for a while. A master ford tech in springfield bought the car. Put it back together, and found out that the thermostat was put in backwards. Fixed the overheating. He did the 60k and a bunch of other stuff. Then sold it since it was just sitting in his drive way. My buddy at Joe Madden Ford bought and then sold it to me. Don't know what other type of history this car has, since I don't know anyone else who's owned it. Anyways, to make a long story short, I've got it, its a great looking ride. And it drives really nice. Couple of minor problems, and one major problem. BUT I have a brand new 1-2 synchro to fix the major problem. So yeah, I might just email Koni of America just to make sure that there are stops on the adjustment knobs so I don't wind up unscrewing the whole thing, and messing it all up. Anywho, if anyone knows for sure the answer to my original question, feel free to pipe up. Later on folks!!! thumb

Full soft has a stop. Full hard is 1 full turn from full soft. I can't remember which way to turn the **** to adjust it, but I think clockwise is firm, if you have the ****, it has an arrow on it. The full firm being one full turn is from the info that the Neon ACR comes with. It has the same style konis on it from the factory.
