Anybody ever use Klasse High Gloss Sealant and Glaze? Vince said that you know the Germans make good stuff, so I bought it. Holy wax removal Batman, talk about a ***** getting that stuff off! It says put on a thin coat. It has the consistency of skim milk, so I thought I was. Probably a thimble full by their standard will do a whole car. I tried by hand at first, and then I got my machine with a microfiber bonnet. That only took a little bit of it off and I went back to doing it by hand. I refuse to use a cutting wheel on a new car. I'm using spot lights on it so I can see how much I'm leaving behind. Well, it's all good, I got to work off my gut!

Edit: Ooooppps. I didn't know it was such a bad word!

Thanks SunDaze. My mistake was doing the whole car at once. If you only did a small section at a time, it probably would be easier. The directions didn't say anything to that effect, just that 2 oz. will do a whole car. I didn't use that much. Took me about 15' to put it on and I've been taking it off for over an hour and only half done.

Edit: I checked out the website. There's a "Tuxedo Black" Lambo in a thread there: http://truthindetailing.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=3534&highlight=blackfire+diamond I'll have to check out that stuff.

I get all my supplies from a local harley davidson dealership in town. Bikers know best when it comes to detailing automobiles.

There's a place just down the road from me, Iron Horse South. What a bunch there, but some really neat stuff coming out of there. I'm just saying I got your drift on that.

Likewise, I use it and yes, the sealant is a PIA the remove. You need to put very very little on the back of a cloth and just skim the surface. Then go back later and wipe clean with a terry cloth and shine with a microfiber.

I just got done waxing my '89 with Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0 using a Porter Cable 7424XP to put it on. I used a microfiber towel to take it off. The PC cuts application time by at least a 1/3 and it lays down a nice even thin coat. This makes it a cinch to take off. Holy moly, I can't believe the shine... words fail me. Any description you've heard before about shine is not enough. The car is black and you can see every little blemish. I did the SHO with it, but the glass flakes masks the true shine. Besides, I fudged it up with that f****n Klasse stuff. Oh, did I mention how shiny it was? :dribble:

Don't use a shamwow on a car.
Use these:

(Cobra Indigo microfibers, they are MUCH safer for cars)

Also if you want some more detailing info:

Yes, Klasse is a great product. I've been using it for years. It's absolutely a wonder for taking off oxidation. Also cleans up windows and rims very well. Its a very versatile product.

If your car sits outside a lot (24/7), then try Collinite #476s and #845 waxes. They are extremely durable. Been using them for years as winter waxes.

:)

oh, and do yourself a favor in the future, only do small sections of a car at a time... saves hours of work. :) :)

Goose, that was just an inside joke on Vince... that pitchman... the slap chop, "you're gonna love my nuts."

I get my microfiber towels from Wally World. Can't remember how much, but I'm sure they're cheap. Autogeek has some good instructional videos. www.truthindetailing.com that SunDaze turned me onto seems like a good site too. I used to use Collinite a long time ago. I value ease of use and time spent more now. I used the previous version of Meguiar's Tech Wax last fall. The SHO was still beading up quite well up until I waxed it again. WNY uses salt and your car can look like a powdered doughnut at times. That'll push the envelope for durability.

:) ok then... I hate that guy! so damn annoying.

Collinite is really a good product. Have you tried the #845 liquid version? It is super easy to use, takes no time at all to wax a car with it... The 476s paste can be harder to use if you wax more than one small area at a time and buff off. Again, amazing winter waxes.

I also have some Poorboys Nattys Blue, and Liquid Souveran wax are both very easy to use. Souveran is a wipe on, wipe off wax. Can't really get any easier and the shine is amazing.

Thanks for the tip Goose. When I was using the Collinite liquid way back when, my routine was a couple coats of Meguiar's #26 Yellow Wax (Carnuba) topped off with the Collinite. That did last through the winter. Last fall I put on 3 coats of the Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax (1.0 if you will) on the SHO and it was beading up really well up until a last week. I put the 2.0 on and then the Klasse. I think your supposed to put sealant on first, and then wax though. Here's a flowchart I got off Autogeek.

How does Klasse compare with Zaino?

Besides the fact that it was an absolute PIA to remove, it seems like I got a couple/few dull spots with the Klasse. I did do the whole car, I guess I should have only done really small sections. I've seen pictures of cars done up with Zaino that look phenomenal. I got some Zaino several years ago that I've never used. Wonder if it's still good

My current combination is zaino with pinnacle paste on top. I'm very happy with it!

I used to be a big NXT fan, but it never lasted more than 3 or 4 hand washes at home.

Bought some Zaino and never looked back. I do hear good things about Klasse as well.

That's funny because I was saying how long the NXT lasts. Maybe because I used the paste? Last October, I put on two coats using the liquid and then a 3rd with paste. It was still beading up really well when I washed it to wax it again a couple weeks ago.

I suppose some will laugh but I use NuFinish. Been using it for 30 years and never saw a reason to use anything else. I use it twice a year, before and after the winter.

I use Nufinish on my parents cars since I only apply it once a year.

Good stuff, but doesn't shine like Zaino.

Never tried Zaino but I hear alot about it. Maybe it's worth a try. Any thoughts on applying Zaino on top of another product, like NuFinish?
