Well my 95 ATX had the problem of not starting half the time, and when it did, the tach wouldn't work. So i took it to a well respected ford dealer, and they ran the codes and said it was an ignition module, and it would be $300 just for the module. Having no idea what that was, i said go ahead and fix it.
While it was getting fixed, my buddy that has a 92 MTX said the only thing he could think of is the DIS module, and he said he had an extra one, and it wouldn't take that long to fix. But since my car was at the dealership already, and not really sure what it could be, i decided to let the dealer just fix it and be done with it.
Well i just got my car back today, and they gave me the old part, and sure enough it's the DIS module, along with the $300 pricetag. So i'm kicking myself for not having my buddy work on it for free. Oh well, i'm glad that it's fix, but still, that's $300 gone. I guess i should be happy that's it's fix. Sorry, but i just wanted to vent.
