Hey all,

Had these front and rear strut tower braces sitting around forever so I'm installing them now. Front one is on and bolted up but the main rod itself moves front to back, about an inch or so. there an bolt w/an o ring that threads into the main rod and it looks like its supposed to pivot where it meets the mounts but I would have thought that the brace would be rigid once installed.

So, did I jack it up?

Ya, better with pics. 1st 2 show the movement, last one is a close up of where the main rod joins to the mounts.

So that looks like a heim joint at the rod end. Those move or swivel a little by design. Like a ball bearing with a hole through the middle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_end_bearing

You should be fine as long as the long rod section is snug lengthwise. If it's not you can adjust it with the nuts where the rod ends attach at the rod.

I agree, it looked right, no other way it could go in. Just not sure why they'd put a joint in it to allow movement. Back is the same way, I hope it doesn't rattle.

It is rigid, in the direction it is designed to do its job. Like many aftermarket suspension pieces that utilize heim joints.
