Hey guys, didn't really notice this until I completed the wheel stud job, and got everything back together.

I've currently got a spare tire and an emergency toolbox in the trunk, along with some odds and ends. Doesn't seem like enough weight to explain the ass sagging, not to mention I like how the body sits over the rear tires. My fear is that I messed up something in the front, which would explain the front end being noticeably higher than the rear.

I just finished the front wheel stud replacement project, and I did pull the knuckles off, which required the loosening of the upper strut mounts. I cleaned the **** out of the strut-to-knuckle contact areas, not to mention there's a bolt that has to go through both of them. On the other hand, I was pretty careful when I tightened the upper strut mount fasteners, so I'm not certain what's going on.

Any ideas? Is it time for some new struts?

Thanks in advance.

Struts don't determine ride height. Springs determine ride height. If it wasn't like that before, you did something wrong.

correct. springs dictate the height. The Taurus is know to get saggy a $$ syndrome. Sagging rear springs. You can lower the fronts, replace the rears, or get a new set of 4 springs to get the look you want.

Do you have any pics of what it looked like before for comparison?

Just looking at the way it sits right now, if you've never lowered the car then it definitely needs new springs in the rear. It's sitting way too low for unmodified.

You can adjust the height in the front some. The tab on the strut that the bolt goes thru is large enough to allow some adjustment. Loosen the bolt on the knuckle that goes thru that tab and knock the knuckle up higher on the strut. That will give you a little more lowering in the front. Not much but that might be all you are lacking to get it back to where it was.

My laptop with all my previous pics crashed last week, and I haven't pulled the drive yet, so no comparison pics. It's definitely different since I messed with the front. Doesn't feel weird when driving, just higher in the front. I'll see if I can get that strut down in the knuckle a little farther. Thanks for the pro tip.

Guess it's time to start saving up for those $1500 coilovers from shosource.

edit: $1150. My bad.
