Keyless entry on a Gen 1

is there any way you can make a gen one use the stock keyless entry from a 95 sho with a remote?

Yes. Get the wiring diagrams for both cars. Cut off the connectors for the old keyless enty box and splice in the new connectors for the new keyless box. Enjoy!
It took me around an hour to do the conversion on my '90. Your door pad code will change also, so make sure the code sticker is on the new box. Someone (I think it was Adam Varney) sent me a really nice spreadsheet with instructions and wiring hookups for the conversion. I will send it to you if you want it.

Does the keyless sometimes stop working, or the power lock motor fail? I checked the code and tried it a couple times, but nothing happens. The lock also doesn't lower when I push the "lock" button.

Don't see why not (that's easy to say without having the wiring diagram in hand ) What are the advantages to the '98+ system?

I was thinking the 98+ system because they have the new remotes which are widely available now. I am thinking the range would be a lot better also.

Does anyone have a schematic of what you would need to splice to get it to work on a gen one. also were can i find the reciever from the gen 2
