Hey everybody. I am newbie so please no flaming, I did use the search feature and couln't find an answer. I just bought a 91 SHO with the plus package. I have a keypad on the door and a module in the trunk. I even have the original credit card look a like with the keypad number on it. Well the keypad does not illuminate and it doesn't work at all. I was wondering if its the module thats broken. Also another question is: Did the car come with the Fob. I heard that only 93 and up had that feature. Thank alot in advance.

If the keypad does not light up and the correct code does nothing chances are there is a wiring problem. A quick test is to push the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons together, if the doors don't lock there is no power to the buttons at all. The first place I would check is at the keyless entry module (it's the easiest to get to). It's located on the back of the back seat in the trunk on the driver’s side. If the wiring looks OK there check in the driver’s door and work you way back to the trunk. Your car may have gotten water in one the connectors and corroded the connector. To answer you second question; No, there is not a key fob remote. You can install the module from a '93-'95 car and you can use a fob then. It requires a little cutting a splicing in the wiring harness at the module connectors but it's a very easy mod.
