There is a slave CD player that came standard in many SHOs, might want to check into that.

slave CD player

if you look at your radio, it has the radio/tape in one DIN slot, and then below that something else in the other DIN (i'm assuming a pocket, or coin/cup holder). there's a factory CD player or very RARELY a factory minidisk player that can go into that slot, it has connections that plug right into the factory tape player, and is controlled through the tape/radio (thats why its called a slave cd player). word to the wise- if you're going to go ahead and install a cd player, a 100 dollar aftermarket one will sound and work better than the stocker... but if you like the stock look, it's really easy.

ok thanks for clearing that up. i wanted to go ahead and put in an after market one but from what i understand there is no wiring harness out there to support the stock sub and amps with and after market h/u. now if anyone knows of a wiring harness that will support the stock sub and amps with after market h/u please share.

im not into the whole sound system thing and im happy with the stockers i did upgrade the sub to a 10 inch pioneer. thats bout all im looking at doing with it other then somehow getting a cd player in there thats y i was wondering if there was a stock cd player out there, that way i can still keep the sub and amps.

im going to see if i can get a hold of a slave cd player on ebay or the local junk man. thanks for the input.

There is a kit out there to integrate the stock amps with an aftermarket amplifier. I believe it is called an amp integration kit. Best Suck or Circuit ****** should have it.

theres both a wiring harness that integrates the stock anp, and one that bypasses it. it's a huge debate, if you search for amp integrator harness or something youll find some of it. i went integrated, it sounds good, others bypassed and it sounds good.. it all depends. note the discusssions about the "hidden" wiring adapter inside the dash- its off to the left i think inside there, and i beleive its useful because it's the same as normal taurus, w/o premium sound, therefore easier to find a wiring harness.

I have a spare amp integration harness if you want it. I've used it with no problems. You use the preamp outputs from your head unit to drive the factory amplifiers. The hotter signal from the head unit really helps the stock system come alive.
