over the past month or so i've been having various mechanics looking at my 93' atx, tryin to figure out what is wrong with my car. i even had ford techs tell me that i probably need a new engine. i started searching the forum and through process of elimination found that the crank sensor was the most likely culprit. when i took the crank cover off i could clearly see that the water pump was leaking onto the sensor. i want to thank you all for saving me a ton of money and teaching me about the car i love in the process.

Awesome, good to hear you got it sorted. Not much use taking these cars into a mechanic/dealership unless it's one that is knowledgable about SHOs.

Just buy a basic toolset if you don't have one, get a jack and some jackstands, and start learning. Really isn't all that hard if you do it, and a waterpump swap is a good starter project IMO. Took me a couple days (it was my first project on the SHO) but if I had to do it again I could do it in a few hours now.
