Hello All,

Just ordered 2016 Taurus S.H.O with PP, and the messaging seats. The waiting time is driving me insane:omgsho:.

Can anyone please chime in on what the wait times others have been receiving before vehicle delivery.

Thank You

Congratulations! If it was just ordered, won't it be a 2017? The order guide for the 2017s is out and the order bank is open.

When I was ordering late in August they mentioned that there would be a mid year release of the new S.H.O for 2017 in April. I thought after 3rd quarter it always fell to next year as well.

Hmmm ... interesting that they (the dealer?) mentioned a mid-April release for a 2017 SHO. AFAIK, there is not going to be any Taurus production for 2017 MY except maybe for Police Interceptor purposes.

I'm surprised you were able to order so late in the model year. You sure they aren't doing a search or tagging one that is regular production? I would think they are very near shutting down the production of the civilian Taurus.

Cool! You may want to have the dealer check to see if the order has been submitted to the plant. You are probably good to go, but the DORA is only an acknowledgement that the order has been received. It's not a guarantee until the order is submitted to the plant for production and a VIN assigned.

You could end up with one of the last Taurus SHO's. Definitely will be one of the last for this body style.

I believe the order bank for 2017s opened on 9/12. I didn't realize the OP ordered in August. The last date to order a 2016 was 9/2 if I recall correctly.

Hmm...interesting Bruce. I had been told no Taurus for 2017, but that was a rumor I guess.

MKS is dead for sure. Being replaced by the Continental.

Yes, I just test drove a Continental yesterday. I will be ordering one a little later this fall after production is in full swing and any little bugs are ironed out.

It was spending some time with the general manager of the dealership where I learned about the 2017 Taurus. They have 2017 SHOs on order.

I sure hope someone has a tune developed for the Lincoln 3.0 by next May. Looking forward to going to the track with a Continental.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Back to exwrx's order.

I updated the other thread, 2017, with the production info. Looks like the first 2017's will not be made until 11/15/2016.

Can anyone chime in on what there wait time were when they ordered a SHO?

I decided to go with the Equipment group 401A, SHO Performance Package, and the Multi Contour seats with active Motion. these were the essentials for myself and the Miss'es.

No Driver assist, moon-roof ,

I was very surprised that the bulk of SHO's that were on the dealership lot lacked the performance package.
Everything that I looked at was 401A with Driver assist package, and moonroof?:shame:

That just seems pointless to place amenities that do not complement the car like the PP would offer

This is just my point of view.

I can't definitively answer your question about how long it takes but since it is not a new model and the Chicago factory is presumably in full production, it shouldn't be too long - maybe 6-8 weeks?

Regarding the PP, not everyone has the same tastes. For many, a car of this type without the moonroof would be a deal breaker. We are all pretty performance oriented folks on this forum but I think many SHO customers view the car as a very comfortable and powerful cruiser - almost near-luxury - and not as an all-out performance machine.

I have the Husky. It's a decent liner and it goes all the way up to the seat backs, but the mold isn't quite right. At least not for my MKS. I think that they all took a mold in 2010 and have kept the same pattern despite the bottom part of the trunk becoming larger. At least that's my guess.

Bought a Lincoln accessory liner and returned it. It was the same way (too small), but didn't cover up to the seat backs.

I preferred the driver assist package as all the research I've done has shown that once tuned the nonPP cars are faster. Besides, the adaptive cruise control is awesome for my drive to work, almost all highway.

I honestly didn't care about having gps or moon roof, but the car had everything else I wanted (well, except the active motion seats which wasn't a deal breaker) so the deal was made.

401A, driver assist, moon roof and gps, ruby red with grey seat inserts.
