So, I have a 90..but hate the color, no moonroof and manual temp controls. Friend just gave me a high mile 95. So im wondering what all I can swap from my 90 into my 95? or if you guys think its worth the effort. Keep in mind that I was going to pull the engine out either way to replace clutch/seals. Im hoping to swap the engine and some interior stuff if it will work. Let me know!

Well alot of info is missing regarding what to do with which car. You are talking about using the 90 as a donor car? Is the 90 in good shape? Depends what condition either of them are in. These cars are not really worth alot of money so don't sink a ton of unnecessary work and cash into them unless they are in really good condition and will last you for a long time. there are alot of parts that are hard to find or obsolete.

Well the 95 is in great shape, but needs a new clutch. Its also green with mocha interior which I have always been a fan of. What I was thinking about doing was pulling the transmission and motor out of the 90... doing the 60k and dropping it into the 95, but also wanted to swap out some interior parts for a mocha/black interior mix.

The 90 has about 150k less miles than the 95, but because it sat out in the california sun without moving for the last 6 years nearly all the rubber and plastic is ruined.

The interior of the 90 and the 95 are very, very different. Most pieces cannot be swapped.

Personally I would save them both. Not save and try and restore unless the 90 has ultra low miles but just drive them. If I would consider anything, I would think about a 3.2 swap for the 95. As Devin said above, a good amount of the interior stuff will be hard to mix and match seamlessly as many of the pieces are designed different enough to be an issue.

I would pull the motor / tranny from the 95, do the clutch on it and do the maintenance work on the 95 engine.
The difference in mileage on the 2 engines is not worth considering, but maybe do the rod bearings when it is out and easy.

I would not swap anything between the 2 cars even though it is possible.
If there is something wrong with the 95 that you know of, then that is a different situation.

If you did swap engines, I would swap every sensor on the engine so that all the sensors remain in the original car. The 95 has a 2 speed fan, the 90 has a single speed, so things like that confuse me, as I don't know if the sensor plays a role, or if it is all done in the engine management system.

The 93s had a black interior option, and they do come up for grabs from time to time on this forum, but it is really difficult to change the dash, so that would be a non starter for me.

I would disagree with sperold on the sensor issue - I've seen too many times when a perfectly working sensor gets broken by removing it, so I would only change those that are different, which iirc are none.

Well the only reason I thought about swapping the motor out was because it has 260k miles... and my friend claims the be a "professional" driver which tells me that he probably beat on it pretty good. So I agree that I deffinitly am not going to pull the motor out of the 90, but will either get a jy motor or a fleabay one unless you guys think that it would just be fine with maintenence. But 260k seems like alot to me

Anyone who says they are professional driver and still owns an old SHO would make me cringe and not buy that car. Often the purchase price on older cars is just the down payment to keeping it on the road.
Based on the limited information you have to work with, I think you are making an intelligent decision looking for a second motor unless you want to go total rebuild with cylinder honing if needed and new rings, inspecting the crank and rod ends etc. also alot of mileage on those heads. You really good with a wrench? big jobs are big money

well, I believe that the SHO motor actually likes to be thrashed a little rather than driven by grandma, so I would not be worried about that part. I have had 200k+ mile SHO motors apart and you could still see cross-hatching on the cylinder walls, so if its had the proper maintenance, I would not worry about your "professional driver" friend's driving habits. I would only be concerned about his maintenance habits, and if he is a true professional, then you will be fine.

With this motor, having one that you know runs fine is 100x better than a jy/ebay motor about which you only know what the seller claims.
