and I love it so far!

First off, this looks to be a great forum. I'm glad I came across it.

My office recently moved, so my commute has tripled. That was my main reason for looking for new car. I was after a sedan with balls and I wanted an American car.

I looked at two classes, 4 cars. I checked out the Fusion sport vs the MKZ. I also checked out the MKS vs the SHO. In the end, I went with the SHO. It just seemed to me to be the best bang for the $$ in terms of features, power, and style.

I liked the Fusion Sport - but no nav screen, The engine is the same as the MKZ, so it had balls. I also thought both cars were a little tight on the inside.

The MKS is a great car, but it seems that it was just priced a little too high compared to the features on the car. All this combined led me to the SHO. In addition, my ecoboost engine is made in the USA, as well as the rest of the car, so that was a big factor. I do not believe the MKZ/Fusion engine is made in the USA (i think it's Mexico - but I could be wrong).

I have been extremely pleased with the performance of the vehicle. It is quiet, good suspension, and it is fast. The SYNC system with the NAV screen is a great combination. All the little bells and whistles make this car top-notch (keyless entry/start, auto opening of sun roof/windows as you approach the car, collision detection, blind spot awareness, adaptive cruise control, auto lights, auto whipers, etc etc etc).

There are a few things I don't like as well. The brakes are not as high performance as I would like. Yes - it is a 4 disc set, but when I am cruising at 95MPH and heading into traffic, the car takes longer to stop than I would expect. I will probably eventually enhance the brakes as mods start to come out. I also do not like the grill too much either - another mod that can easily be done.

One question I have (see pic below). Why is only one side of the lower intake grill covered? Is there a practical reason for this, or is this just the way they styled it?
