Yup, I was doing some research on this very thing as I will be adding one myself:

Question I can't find the definitive answer to is...what temp is the factory thermostatic valve set at (item #4) I can't seem to find the answer...I'm going to replace it with an aftermarket one, but want to compare temp settings as you can get aftermarket ones at various temps.

Anybody know or can find out? That part number I wrote down is the PN for the valve
I've heard from a couple different spots that the thermostat is 160 degrees. I'm deleting it personally. Might add one in line down the road

Yeah, I was contemplating that, but that's pretty tough on your trans at warm up...it will take forever to get to operating temp...

Did a clean up of the corrosion, got to bare metal in most parts, primed and painted. Wasn't looking for body shop quality just a little prevention for the future. It is mostly just surface from the acid of a previous owner battery explosion but it is what it is lolIMG 20201023 162608 IMG 20201023 162744 IMG 20201023 164813

Yeah, not sure how it'll go but I'll definitely collect some data. Especially with the trans cooler cooling the ptu it won't be as efficient sho hope the trans will still be happy. Most the time at the drag strip the trans is woefully under temps anywho

Mocking up the trucool 40k trans cooler. Pretty substantial upgrade over my nonpp cooler built into the ac condenser radiator. Obviously not finalized by any means but trying to get everything decently prepped for when crash bar/motor come in for final fitment. For those curious on making your own custom trans coolers the feed is on the front and the return is on firewall side.

Should help that trans survive a little bit better and also increase the amount of fluid cycling the trans. However, I'm integrating this into the pp ptu cooler also. So hot side feed from trans to cooler, cooler to ptu, ptu to trans. This way I'm hoping running no thermostat the trans won't be severely under temp but still able to get benefits of being cooler than the oem set up.

Couple cool notes from the last couple days...

My turbine housings and exhaust manifolds plus some other stuff has been received by my ceramic coater. Ended up going more local and staying in Missouri with performance coatings plus out of Joplin!

Where in MO are you Jordan? I’m in OK but only an hour from Joplin.

Picture from ceramic coater! Ended up going with performance coatings plus out of joplin, mo! He hit me with an awesome price and I'm glad to do business with him. Very nice guy and this should be a great add on!! 2000f coating

Keep exhaust velocity up, keep heat into turbine housings to keep them from cooling too fast, keep engine bay temps down and keep intake temps down by keeping coolant temps inside the pipe. Overall much welcomed improvements!

Nice addition.

Very good to see you investing in those "little extras" that will collectively prove beneficial to your build, as well as helping attain the overall goal of more powahhhh and more expected longevity.

Well done. Keep it up.

@Jordan_R - Speaking of corrosion, you might want to pull your side skirts if you haven't yet. I saw a post on FB about it (Lincoln group) and after tucking my phone under to see what mine look like, holy.... I need to pull them to get an even better look, but there was some good surface corrosion from what I saw. Heck, anyone reading this, give them a look!

Yep thinking of pulling mine and Herculining them.
