Well I have replaced the plugs, wires, MAF sensor, and TPS. The car runs better (smoother), but it still jolts when I drive it, and there is still a major power loss. I am starting to think it is the fuel pump.... any suggestions.

Have you checked the plug wire order? Verified the ground path for the DIS module? It still sounds like a misfire, but exactly what do you mean by "jolting?"

Fuel system problems are not usually displayed by a bucking engine. The pump doesn't start and stop. It either runs or it doesn't.

Did you ever determine what caused the fire and what was damaged? The fire wasn't the cause, but rather the result of a problem. How are the electrical harnesses? Intermittant connections? Try the "wiggle test" to find weak connections.

Well the cause of the fire is unknown. I checked under the car and could not find anything that would have caused it. Nothing was damaged except the inner CV boot on the passenger side. I am pretty sure the plug wire order is correct, but I will check just to make sure. When I say jolting, I mean, the engine runs smooth, but when I am driving it bucks. I know its not the engine missing, because it doesnt do it all the time... but alot of the time. It sort of feels as if the engine is running out of gas. I have no power either. In first gear I can have the pedal floored, and the car barely moves. same for all of the rest of the gears. I can floor the pedal and the car slowly accelerates.

Does it buck like a rodeo? When my Cam sensor was failing, it would intermittantly make the engine run like cow dung. But you say your car idles fine during these times too?

Yeah, it idles fine, and it actually runs better if I dont run the A/C. I have an aweful power loss though. When I try to go up my driveway, which is about a 30 degree incline, in 2nd gear, with my pedal to the floor, the car barely makes it up the hill. What the ****? I ran the codes again tonight when I got home, and got a 542 for the KOEO test. I believe that is the fuel pump secondary. Does anybody know what this means. I ran the KOER test and got 111... I am at a loss.

Well, this may not be your cars problems, but I thought I'd mention it anyways.

The 3 times that I have had noticable power loss were all solved by easy fixes.

The worse and most obvious one was when one of my plug wires was swimming in oil. New gaskets, plugs, and wires, and it was running strong again.

The next time I didn't even realize I had a power loss, but changed the TPS just for something to do. After that, the car ran much stronger.

The third time, I had a real noticable lag between 2500 and 4000 rpms. Although I doubted it was the fuel filter, I figured I'd change it anyways. Huge improvement. It ran very strong after that, with no lag. I was very surprised at the difference.

Just wanted to mention that for those of you out there that haven't changed the fuel filter in a long time.
