I have the premium head unit and I've added a stock Ford CD player.

I just purchased a stock sub & enclosure with the JBL amps still on the factory bracket with the wiring in-tact. Oh, it's from a 94 SHO.

I need some quidance on installing this on my current stock system, wiring and so forth.

I did a quick search, but no topics really covered this in whole.

The head unit and CD player will bolt right up. Don't forget to attach a ground to the CD unit (should already be in car located in the back of radio area ... single wire w/ black connector at end). As far as the amps .... You interior amp will plug and play. You might have a problem sub amp which is the smaller amp. There is a additional wiring harness that has a Yellow and Red wires attached to it. You might have teh plug in your trunck hidden. It will be in the center of the trunk. Hope this helps.

Rickie I knew you'd reply. Acutally I already have the HU/CD installed from months ago. What I got from the seller was the JBL black amp the smaller box in the middle and the silver amp all on the original black bracket along with the sub box.

I'm just curious on how to hook up the sub box and amps.. like any wiring diagrams or additional wiring needed.

Thanks guys

:D hehehe thumb

I wish I had a diagram of how the system is layed out. I think the system should be plug and play. shrug If i'm not mistaken ... The silver amp should be sending a signal to the black amp or there should be a plug in that area.

Damn it ...... Now you got me wondering. :p Let me see what I can do this weekend. wink

The JBL head unit sends all fours channels' signal to the black JBL amp. The speakers connector then connects to the other big plug on that black JBL amp. Then there's another plug (grey wire I believe) that runs to the sub amp from the black amp (sends a summed mono signal to the sub amp). Then your sub plugs into the silver sub amp. The small black box should have a two wire connector on it that goes to the silver amp for power. The power to the little black box should come from a connector that's probably either right on the back of the seat, or tucked under it, or under the floor. It should be there, I am assuming, just not connected to anything.

Okay, I went back and sat in my trunk.

I see how the cables attatch to the black JBL amp, and I found the 2 prong (yellow and black wire) grey connector above the remote entry box.

Is there only 1 cable coming from sub box? or should there be another?

The little box between the amps seems to be plugged in correctly to the silver amp connector, but when I hooked it all up like the only real way I can see, I get sound to all 4 interior speakers, but no sound to the sub. shrug shrug

And to be honest, the JBL by itself doesn't sound as good as the stock amp I had? Is that due to no sub sounds?

I know this seems foolish to install stock stuff, but it seemed like a cheaper alternative. I really just want the sub box to work, and some cleaner sound.

Rickie or other audiophiles, whould I keep the stock amp to run the interior and bypass the sub amp and use an aftermarket? What's needed for that if I can't get the JBL/SUB stuff to work?

I appriciate anyones opinion or advice.. especially over a well covered topic.

I think you might need a different gray cable that runs from the HU to the trunk too. Not sure on that, but I think I've heard that on the shotimes list.
