Hey all,

I just got my SHO last night (94 ATX) it has the premium Sound system but there's a little problem. Every time I go over a bump, close the trunk... whatever, the audio cuts out. the radio has power but just the sound cuts out. Also the CD player keeps cycling as well with no CD in it. I haven't tried a CD in it yet since it's acting so wierd. My local audio shop thinks I may have a short in one of the speakers causing the audio drop but has no clue on the CD player. Anyone have any Ideas? I gotta have my tunes

Theres a fix over at shotimes.com for repairing the CD player. All you need is time and some contact cleaner. The other issue sounds like a loose wire or plug.

I figured out what was happening with the audio cutting out (I won't describe how I somehow wedged my 300 pound self into the trunk  or how My girlfriend said she wanted a video camera when I finaly got myself back out  ) There is a loose plug on the amp. I think I have it working ok now. the CD player will work but it won't eject the CD unless I shut the player off.... Still tweaking

Your CD player has the "clicking death". You have to take it apart and clean the micro switches that tell the unit that there is a CD in it. If you decide to replace it look for a unit that came from a Mustang in the late '90s (97-99); those units don't have the micro switches and never have the problems of the older ones.

I got lucky when I got my slave cd player from a 94 SHO, it had a build date of may 2000! I guess someone swapped it in from a mustang before I got to it. but anyways brians vt sho, I'm having the same problem but the radio is always cut out. i'll have to crawl into the trunk myself and check all the plugs. I did find a white plug about 2-3 inches wide that wasnt pluged into anything, but I couldnt find a spot for it. anyone have a pic of the factory set up I can use as refference?
