Well that itch turned into a scratch. Went out back to dig the SHO out and much to my surprise it wasn't buried, relatively snow free, actually.
I ran a trickle charger to the back yard and hooked it up, listened to the cd player and even started the car. Fired right up, once the battery was charged. Sounded to be running good, good throttle response... Then a bunch of smoke from under the hood, one of the belts snapped so i shut it off lol. the chatter from inside the bellhousing was still there.
I then went ahead and pulled all the seats, misc trim pieces and hopefully the dash and center console in the near future. Im going to give it a thorough cleaning, maybe even a new drivers seat if i can find one around here. The carpet is trashed, battery acid got into it behind the driver seat somehow and its all chewed up. Anyone ever replaced their carpeting before? Did you use a roll or specific cut carpet to our cars? I'll post pics when i get home, its pretty ruff. I've come to find plastic is quite bridle in the cold. Anyone know wheres theres a gray interior parts SHO around?

Almost embarrassed of how nasty it is. But i assure you it came in worse shape, 3 + years with the sunroof cracked = alot of pine needles and leaves.
Good below freezing times.
Ever happen to your dash? Not so cool. Anyone have any fixes? Thanks.
I've seen your cousin around a few times and he
was telling me about your car. Something about machine shops not wanting to put the motor back together or some BS.
First couple wouldn't put the rolling assembly back in the block period. Mostly because i disassembled it myself, which was probably a bad move but i wanted to see how it all went together.
Another guy would but only if he could order new pistons for it, which he quoted to be more then some nice wisecos of my compression choice(1000 for pistons alone). To be honest i probably could have had the 3.2 together and in the SHO by summer. But not the way i wanted it. its been all cleaned up, I have the new rings and bearings etc, but I really want brand new thrust bearings, some head work, intake porting etc. maybe even some wisecos (i just felt my wallet wrinkle). The 3.2 will stay on the engine stand for now. unless i could find another 3.2 dirty cheap to throw all my 3.0 stuff on while its all out for the clutch job

.
In the mean time ive ordered everything needed for a full front and top 60k, rod bearings and other misc things for the 3.0.
For me , im getting back in it to fix my white's reverse in the easter week. I also got Accel coil to install.
After that it'll be ready for a dyno run. Can't wait , I know too much what you mean...
Ive been driving a slush box, soft suspension, huge front end GM car, all winter and im so sick of it. Its a coupe none the less. Most would take the eldo over the SHO but to me its no contest, i love my taurus. I'm not gonna lie, ive been waiting to see your dyno numbers for a long, long time now. You have a pretty balls out NA build. Dyno charts are Long, long overdue.
