Is this the engine side connections for the heater core? If so can I just remove and merge together to bypass the core?

Nope, not a daily driver. It has got to be in the core or somewhere. I can't find a leak in the engine bay so it must be in the core. Took it on its really maiden voyage the other day on a decently long drive. 30 miles and got on it on the highway and the windows instantly fogged up and I smelt antifreeze. I don't see any antifreeze in the passenger side floorboard or even the drivers side for that since that is really where the core is. I am not going to spend 8+ hours tearing apart a dash where everything works just fine. Seems like I would be opening up Pandora's box if I did. I also don't have a garage to do it in. I am not afraid to do it, just don't have the time and don't really care if I don't have heat. I can put in a electric heater if needed. Did this in my old jeeps and it did just fine. After car warms up I can simply open up vents and get engine heat. I don't see a huge problem.

Yeah I just was wondering about the temp/weather thing. If it's just a toss around side car then that makes sense. I wouldn't want to dig in there either if I didn't have to.

More stupid design decisions. “Oh where should this heater core go?” Asked one designer to another. “I don’t care so long as it works and isn’t in the way of something else. I mean it’s not like we are going to have to replace it. Besides... who keeps cars for twenty years anyway?”

Modern cars and their shit “pack everything into a tight package design.” Are what the problem is. I tell you when I open the hood of my old 1969 vehicle I just love the fact everything can be accessed without needing to break my arms and wrists in five places just to get to them. I am rambling on so I will stop.
