Ahh yes the clicking sound of death! I just did this on my red 95. You will have to remove your dash. It doesn't take that long. If you have 1 person on each side. And you will have to drop the steering colum. And you will have to unplug the speedo cable from your gauge cluster. It took me maybe 2 and a half hours (give or take a 30mins) to get the dash out of the car. Not that bad like i said if you have some one helping you. After it is out. Make sure there isn't any thing in the way of the blend door or wedged in there so it doesn't open or shut. Alot of memebers have found out that sometimes there is something in the doorway. So check that first. If that all checks out. Then it is the blend door motor. I got mine brand new from ford for like $75.00. All i say is enjoy! On the plus side it is a good time to clean every thing up in your car since every part is out :thumb: Let us know if you need any help!

The BDA failure makes more of a thump than a click, so I'd make sure that this is what's failing before you go tearing into the dash.

There is an EATC self-test that can be done to verify that this is the problem. A search here or on shotimes should turn up the test procedure.

Thump, click same thing :D Yeah and i forgot to tell him to do the EATC self test first :bonk: That will normally hint you to what is going on...

i did the test and got no errors , but it seems like no matter what setting it is on, air comes out of different vents randomly like it has a brain of its own

That's not a blend door failure, then. The BDA regulates how much air comes from the heat or a/c vent plenums. If something is interfering with how much air comes out of the various vents that's not likely to be the BDA.

When you turn it off, does it actually turn off? Does the fan work on different levels, or is it stuck on one speed all the time? If it's always stuck on one speed, and it also doesn't turn off, it's probably the blower control module (BCM).

when i got the car, it had that problem, then it stopped, i figured since what causes BCM failure is corrosion and such, maybe a piece fell off and the contact was made again, i plan on replacing the BCM, but i wanted to make sure no other key parts were failing before i took a trip to the junk yard :)

Before you go ou tand replace the BCM, try cleaning the contacts, connections and all that. I have an intermittent BCM problem right now, and from what I've read here, cleaning the contacts can alleviate some problems.

I think a leak in a vacuum control line somewhere can lead to problems with air distribution.
