Might be a dumb question but is the PTU Fluid the same as the Tranny Fluid ? In other words is it two separate flushes or are both one in the same?? I just hit 60,000 miles and want to flush the coolant, tranny, ptu fluid etc

Most recommendations I've seen for transmission fluid is just using motorcraft but for Rear Diff and PTU I use Amsoil severe gear. Rear diff fluid looked brand new at 60k so I would change it and not worry about it for awhile probably could just use motorcraft for that. PTU on the other hand I would not recommend using motorcraft as discussed many times it a weak point and turns to grease quickly. Some guys use redline ive heard good things about them as well.

The pic above is great specification. I stick with Motorcraft Mercon LV for the tranny (get it cheap AF through the dealer if I bring my own bucket) and then I use Redline Synthetics 75w140 for the PTU. Haven't done the RDU yet.

Redline here. I swear the car is quicker and coasts farther and faster after I did the PTU at 70k. the fluid still looked like new in the rear diff.

As far as I know all 4th Gen SHOs have the 6f55. You want Mercon LV. Also the torque converter will hold alot of fluid so you have to drain and fill 3x about 5 quarts each time. Buy 15 quarts. Drain fill then let it heat up cycle through the gears or take it for a short drive and repeat
