I find it funny that when I ask a buddy who works at the local ford dealership, that he tells me there is no inherint problems with SHO v8 engines.
I found this when paging through the Oct. issue of Motor Age reads as follows:
Bulletin# 03-14-1
1996-99 Taurus SHO
Camshaft failures due to excessive clearance between the sprocket and shaft are common on these engines. Camshaft life may be extended by applying locktite 294 to the shaft and allowing it to wick into the gap. The bulletin desribes how to measure the gap to determine if the camshaft should be replaced. Illustrations and complete instructions tell how to use locktite without removing the camshafts. end.
Now if there is no problems, why is there a bulletin, just found it funny and thought I would share it.
