Kenwood KVT 410 DVD (yeah its old)

I am sick of the horrible reception of the FM transmitter, and CDs are just a PITA.

I got the Kenwood KCA-iP101 cable today from work, pulled the head unit out and there is not port for the cable.

I expected that much since it an older unit, but I figured there would be a different style port to plug into. The only one I saw was the size of a ball point pen body and had 4 holes in it for prongs (IIRC). Would that be anything I could use?

Since I am pretty sure that there isn't going to be any plug and play option at this point, what are the ways around this?

First off, Your going to HATE the IPOD/MP3 Interfaces on most CD decks. It's REALLY hard to find the song you want, Especially if you have a ton of Music stored on it.

Go to Walmart, Buy a 70 Dollar head unit with a AUX input in the Front (It will be a Quarter Inch headphone looking input on the face of the CD player) and just use that. That way, You can still use the Actual IPOD to select music as opposed to the CD players interface that's a Pain in the ass to use.(Actual IPOD interfaces on Head units essentially disable the IPOD when it's plugged in)

Either way, Your going to **** us all Looking For Music on your IPOD, Using the CD players IPOD interface, Looking for a CD, Or Trying to get your Radio to work. ;)

I have the same Ipod interface unit. I have it hooked up to my Kenwood MP5028 MP3/CD player in my SHO. Its not too bad. The only way to access the music on the ipod is that everything you want to play has to be set up in a Playlist through itunes and then downloaded to your ipod, otherwise it won't work.

I have actually got use to the fact that I just have to keep changing the playlist on the deck. I think you can have up to 500 playlists in your itunes software, so it really isn't too bad.

I haven't had a CD in my car for a while, now. I can change whatever I want on my ipod and don't have to worry about keeping CD's hidden in the car. I have been thinking about upgrading to a different deck w/bluetooth and ipod controls.

Its a good setup, I like it. :)

Success.

Monster RCA/headphonejack 6ft cable.

Not exactly plug and play, have to flip a setting and run RCA splitters but since I paid nothing for either I can deal with it.
