Hello, everyone!

My name is Mark and I just purchased a 2010 SHO. I have experience with late model Mustangs, and am really excited to own one of the best cars Ford has produced.

Now, coming from Mustangs over to a Taurus is a change for me. I want to do some tasteful visual mods first before delving into performance mods. I like to add a hood stripe the same color of the wheels (graphite grey), tint the windows, and black out the grille and around the LED's in the bumper. Any suggestions of where to purchase these items or how to do them? Any thoughts on my ideas or other suggestions?

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to being a member of this forum!
Mark

Welcome to the forum, Mark, congrats on your '10!

Hood Stripes: Most people outline the "power bump" with stripe sets from EBay (57belairboy = seller name on EBay, [email protected])
Window tint: Use reputable installer of choice, they should know the acceptable legal limits
Grille/Bumper Blackout: Plastidip is a popular route to go. Some have the parts professionally painted.

Welcome Mark!! I just traded in an 08 Mustang gt for my sho, so I'm in the same boat as you!!
I went straight for performance modding. Got a 91 octane tune from Unleashed tuning which I am quite pleased with!!
I know you said visual first, but just wanted to let you know what I started with after switching from a mustang!
Performance mods are addicting...
Probably not much help, but WELCOME!!!!

I just grabbed a '12 coming from an Audi....maintenance has got to be cheaper. There are parts of the SHO's powerband that feel stronger than my last car. I will miss how fast I could go in the corners but oh well.
So far so good! Love this car. Like you I think I'm going to go the cosmetic route first...with it already feeling strong and running good I'm not messing with the performance mods yet.
The car is already black. Looks like I will be using my plastidip and vinyl skills to black it out. I will be going with red accents; should be fun

Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions! Looking forward to being a part of a great community. Does anyone know if there are SHO club's like Mustang clubs in and around Asheville, NC?

You did really good! Seriously that is almost everything I wanted to do! I'm blacking out the chrome window trim. But what is that on your handles? Loving that! On the lights, did you use window tint or nearly clear vinyl?

Thanks. I used Lamin X pre cut vinyl on tail lights. I used duplicolor ford red touch up oen to do badges and letters. Then i used leftover red caliper spray paint for handles. It applied easier than touch up pen.

The Ford emblems are very pricey. 112 for front and rear. Considering its a very flimsy tin overlay. But they look good. Customized emblems is the name of the company. Yes you can buy decals that look the same. Lol

You did a really good job! Thx for the info.

Thanks. Thats the nice thing about black. Lots of color choices fir accents. I was considering orange or a neon green. Just couldnt find those colors in an easy application process. Orange to a degree but no green that i liked
