It's just behind the glove box. If you want to remove it you have to remove the harness from the engine compartment first.

read through this thread, you push the sides of the glove box and it pivots down so you can see the ECU

Very easy. Open glove box (empty it). Push in on the sides of the glove box to get the sides out of the grooves that allow it to open and close with being able to stop. This will allow it drop and hang straight down. The computer will be right there.

The other side connects to the wiring harness plug on the opposite side of the firewall-- engine side. That plug has an integrated bolt in the center that screws into a threaded hole in the computer to secure them together. You have to unscrew the bolt to remove the harness plug. There should be a plastic piece the supports the back of the computer case on the interior side of the car. Sometimes this is missing if it was serviced or had a tuning chip plugged into the rear port that needed extra space to fit.

THis ebay image will show you what it looks like. The large pin side is on the engine side. You can also see the threaded hole the harness plug bolt screws into. The back You will see from behind the glove box. This pic has an exposed port that many of us had used for programming chip interface. Stock normally has a piece of tape over it.

There used to be active regional clubs but that was years ago. Alot of the owners of the older versions of these cars have moved on to other vehicles. If you look at the bottom of the forum, you can see the regional clubs that used to operate. Mostly no traffic down there now. It would be nice to see something operate again. The national club meet is nice to see still running. You might want to tap into the newer SHO model owner groups as they are more active. Also the facebook SHO groups can be a great resource for parts, info, and get togethers.

I just see so many posts on forums of issues an never any answers most of the time.. I will get to the bottom of it an have an answer for future reference for people who need the information or actually solving the issues. No offense to anyone but I won’t drive the car like this. I will figure this out before I do anything else to the car. When you drive a sho this is the main part you want working correctly. It’s the whole fun in hearing the secondaries opening an hearing the engine sing !!
