Sometimes I think I'm a hypochondriac where my car is concerned. Today, she wouldn't start, then started right up on the second try. After I got to where I was going, and tried to leave, she wouldn't start at all. Then mysteriously, she started right up (after my "last" attempt").

All I got was a "click" like it was my battery, starter or starter solenoid. Is there an easy way to eliminate the starter or solenoid as the culprit without taking the starter or solenoid out?

Additionally, I can't eliminate the battery either. Apparently, my negative cable was a bit loose. Still, though, after I cleaned and tightened the battery cables when I got home, she still waited like a half second before she fired up. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
John
