I'm not sure if this topic has been covered, but I was unable to find any info on this topic so far. SO, I'll spell it out here.. Occasionally, my '93 MTX does not start on the first attempt (maybe one out of ten starts). It ALWAYS starts right up on the second try. I have recently done the 60k maintenance, including crank and cam sensors, plugs, wires, fuel fitler, air filter, etc. I never have a CE light, and I can hear the fuel pump working properly when I turn the key. It also has a new-ish Motocraft starter that cranks great. It did this before and after the 60k maintenance, so it doesn't seem like a user error problem. I haven't figured out a definite pattern yet, but it does seem to do this a little more frequently if I try to start it after I just drove it for a while. It has been doing this ever since I bought the car with 54k miles.
Is this something anyone else has seen before? It just seems like a strange problem, as it purrs great once it's running on all 6. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks.
