Hello,

I am a proud owner of a '94 MTX with 120K KM (72k miles). The thermostat and radiator have been replaced but now there is a problem with starting. After driving the engine will not turn over after repetative attempts; original alternator still charging, lighting strong no dimming, battery strong, hear fule pump perculating in tank at turn of key.
However, after a 15-45 min. wait all systems go.

Betty,
Please clarify, the engine will not turn over? Or it will turn over, but will not start? If it will not turn over, and you are not hearing the starter engage the flywheel, then the starter solenoid is going out (usually begins to "stick" when hot). If the starter is engaging, but not spinning, then the starter itself is going out. If the car is turning over, but won't start, it could be a bad crank position sensor.

And to add to that list...

if the starter is turning but not engaging, then the starter is hanging up (like mine does from time to time squint ) and just needs to be taken out and cleaned up (oil deposites) or simply replaced with a new/remanufactured one... I hear a biiiizzzzzzzzzzzzz but no cranking.

Try to use these descriptions to describe the condition you are experiencing. Until we can get a thorough desciption of the situation, we can only guess as to the possible causes.
