Loaded up the Unleashed 93 octane with 3 Bar MAP along with spark plugs and T-stat. The power increase is very much needed, it really turns this 4 door sedan into a real sleeper and not just a quick 4 door sedan. I have noticed a couple things however and am working with Torrie on them. Thought I might post to see if anyone else has experienced this.

1st is the shift from 1st to 2nd. I am having a hard time telling if I am getting wheel hop or not, but it sure does sound and almost feel like it. Unfortunately the Sport Comps don't really chirp or make much noise so I cant tell. Anyone else notice?

2nd is a weird hesitation under WOT in 3rd gear around 4600 RPM's but then takes right back off. When data logging all the sensors really dip like the car is cutting back for some reason. But why would it cut back only in that gear at that time?

Torrie tuned the boost down a bit and that SEEMS to have fixed the hesitation but I haven't really had chance to get on it.. Northern Virginia around 5:30 doesn't have a lot of places that you can play...

I have to say, Torrie is crazy fast on his responses and assistance. Kudos to him!

Maybe reduce shift pressures a tad 185-195 psi or so. Also check for chafing knock sensor wiring, which can cause all kinds of weird hesitation because the computer thinks the engine is stressed and acts to save the car by cutting power.

I don't know anything about Torrie's tuning process but I would not judge ultimate transmission behavior based on how it shifts immediately after loading a tune. The transmission has adaptive learning - and I assume that is still the case when tuned by Torrie - so after flashing the car, it takes some time for the transmission to adjust and smooth out.

High shift pressure "stutter" is often mistaken for wheel hop. Reducing shift pressure will fix it but many others - including myself - have found that fresh ATF eliminates the stutter even with the higher shift pressure.

I know about the adaptive learning, which is why I put about 75 miles or so on her with a combination of city/highway before I mentioned it to Torrie. I have never had a tune on an automatic before much less an AWD vehicle. So I am just pinging the community as opposed to bothering Torrie. Thanks though for the recommendation with the ATF fluid. I will do a drain and fill as well.

Thought I would weigh-in on this one. I just completed my mods last night, which are the same as your's, only a 2015 with a Livernois tune, V10. The transmission shifts firmly, not harsh, and no matter what speed I floor the gas, there is an instant, distinct downshift of one or two gears, with zero hesitation, tire chirp, or any other of the symptoms you describe. My thought is that there is another cause not related to the tune. Worn parts perhaps. Did you experience ANY of the same symptoms before the tune? I can say the Livernois tune is exactly how the car SHOULD HAVE performed from the factory. The driveability is amazing.

Have you tried the trans drain and fill?

Yes, it made a difference. No more stuttering except the chirp from 1st - 2nd >:-D

I took a trip over the weekend combining city with mostly highway. Drove it easy except for one romp to get in front of a semi. Total gas mileage for the trip was 26.2mpg, which is up from my previous, untuned best of 24.3,mpg.
Now the good part which I learned after hooking up my scanner to the freshly tuned car: The fans used to come on at 212F, they now come on at 188F, which appeases my fear of meltdown. I SWITCHED THE 'READY TEST' ON, AND IT SAID THE CAR WAS READY TO PASS ECHECK. Not sure if this is fluke, as I won't need to echeck for another year or two. But there is a station I will self-test at when the time comes. That would be the icing on the cake.

Shoblock, what temps are you seeing under normal cruising conditions? How about under WOT for a few seconds?

Good to hear!
Did you do it once or more?
How much fluid came out?
Didn't have time to do it myself, my friend did me a solid and took care of it at his shop. I gave him 6qts of lv... He did one drain and fill.

I changed my tranny fluid after reading this because mine also had a shudder in the 1-2 shift. I had the front of my car on jack stands that held the tires about 1" off the ground (suspension hanging). I drained it into a container and then poured it back into quart oil containers and it filled barely over 5 quarts (probably 5 1/16 quarts). I filled back with 5 quarts and it read right in the middle of the dipstick. I don't know how much stayed in the back of the pan due to the front of the car being slightly higher. But I would say at a minimum you'll need 5 quarts and I would buy 6 just to avoid a trip back to the store if you need a little more.

New to the group here with my 15 SHO non-PP with the Livernois Level 4 package (Corsa&Dps,Air intake,TS,3bar V.10 tune)

I am well experiencing this 1-2 shudder and free revving sometimes when shifting 1-2(like it's out of gear until the RPMs come back down). Also have drained my trans fluid and re-filled with Valvoline VL got 6qts out.
I have been running this tune for almost 200miles and cautious to get on the throttle when in first. I have had 1 smooth 1-2 shift under full throttle.

I have requested to have the 1-2 pressure turned down a tad.

Car just turned 6k on the odometer.

Ya, I would talk to your tuner. Speaking from experience... Mine is a 2010 SHO, fluid changes at this point make a difference...

Line pressure adjustment should definitely help. Also check to make sure you don't get into it when a) the trans is cold, b) the engine is cold, or c) the tires are cold. Tuned vehicles need their warmup exercises and stretches :) Tire pressures even across the board?

And welcome, Rowland2004.
