So if you people aren't going to buy all the other SC parts from them, what exactly are you going to do. It don't seem to far fetched to make your own piping, and brackets to hold up the SC, but getting it all right for the belt, I mean if it's sligthly off wouldn't that make a big deal?

When I wrote 'This basic kit ...' to Jason, I was referring to the SHO Shop SC BASE kit, found here:

I was looking at those kits, but it doesn't seem any of the base kits that SS has (the piping kit or the fuel kit) have the blow off valve included. This added onto the blower and the 2 kits would make it more expensive than the price they have for the full kit, wouldn't it?

FWIW... I'll be spending close to the same amount as SS, but I'll have more and better components ;)

That may be correct, if you use all new parts.

However, in many cases, people wanting blower kits want to use a different MAF, different injectors, different tuning devices, etc. so up until now, the only way to do so was to purchase a complete kit, and attempt to peddle what you don't want, and buy what you do want. Now you have the choice of only getting what you WANT, even though, in the end, you might pay more than a full kit made with components you may not want - but the kit is built the way YOU want it, without the bother of selling stuff you had to buy, but didn't need.

I 100% agree with Josh.... You don't really want to use an LPM to tune(especially since they only "band-aid" the tuning) and you want some better injectors and such.

I already have a lot of the stuff covered, so I see this as a great deal!

Per Josh's recommendation, I'll be going with a T-trim. They do not have to be over-revved to get the same boost. Therefore, it is more efficient.

Hey guys, Josh and I are planning to do this in March, how many can I count on to actually be in on this in March? I'll be holding off on buying mine in hopes we can get 5 people, to include me, for the buy. If you are in, please post:-D

I will be able to let you know closer to the deadline date after it is set. If the chance of there being more than 5 people comes up, would we get a larger discount?

I can't say for sure... I don't think so, but if there were... I am sure we would have to have more than 10 people.

Neither Josh nor Mike have a supercharger kit available, at least not as of now. You'd have to get a ready made kit or fabricate it yourself.

FWIW, I've been screwed by SS, but again, they really are the only ones that carry what I want when I want it. If you decided to order from SS, make completely sure that Vadim has EVERYTHING in stock before ordering. Vadim kept up with me for two weeks letting me know the status of the parts being manufactured. When everything was ready to go, I then ordered.

Well, March is coming up fast - where did the winter go? Here I thought I would get to hibernate, but that has not been the case ;)

Jason has asked me to clarify a few points on the logistics of the group buy.

Step 1 is to confirm to Jason that you are in for the group buy for the Supercharger Head unit, your choice of trims as mentioned in the previous post. You must have your name to Jason by March 1st. To recap (prices include adjustments for Vortech's January 5% price increase):

Our $US pricing on Vortech blowers, in the US lower 48, assuming minimum 5 purchasers, is:
V-2 (quiet, SQ), standard duty, CCW, straight discharge, satin (requires pulley+pulley retainer assembly):
S, SC, and E-trims, $1840 shipped (list is $2043.95 + shipping)
T-trim $1935 shipped (this is a new model, not listed anywhere else but here - list on a V-1 HD T-trim is $2627.95 + shipping)

If you want polished, you are at:
S, SC, and E-trims, $1950 shipped (list is $2167.95 + shipping)
T-trim $2045 shipped (this is a new model, not listed anywhere else but here - list on a polished V-1 HD T-trim is $2750.95 + shipping)

You'll also need:
Pulley Retainer Assembly, Supercharger Drive, 6-Rib (Required for 6-Rib S/C
Drive Pulleys) $9

Plus your choice of (all $61):
Supercharger Pulley, 3.125", 6-Rib
Supercharger Pulley, 3.25", 6-Rib
Supercharger Pulley, 3.33", 6-Rib
Supercharger Pulley, 3.48", 6-Rib

Once Jason has 5+ names, then we will move to Step 2 and start collecting deposits. The deposit is 25% of the head unit price. There will be a specified time frame for deposits to be collected, and then the group buy closes. This will be a 2 week period, starting March 2 and ending March 16 (may change if 5 names are not immediately forthcoming)

Once we have reached the end of the Group buy, and the required number of deposits have been collected (5 minimum), then we verify a delivery date with Vortech for the required number of units. This should be just a formality for them shipping units off the shelf, but it's an important step to verify.

Once the delivery date is set, then we move to Step 3, which is to collect the final balance, and co-ordinate shipping details. The units will be shipped to us, and then shipped to the buyer. Vortech does not do drop ships without a rather high surcharge, so we have to have them ship the units to us and we ship to the buyer to maintain economy (may change).

Payment is via PayPal or Money Order or equivalent.

That's about it!

Josh are all the vortech superchargers CCW rotating units or are those special for certian cars like the LS1 and some mustangs? I might try assembling a kit also.

The ones for the SHO are CCW if the blower is mounted (backwards) where the battery was.

Vortech offers either, and the CCW ones are used for blowers that are mounted on the far side of the belt, like the SHO, LS1, and some mustangs. If the blower is mounted on the engine side of the belt like a normal accessory such as alternator, a normal rotation unit is used (5.0L mustangs etc.)
