the gen3 buckets fit in the gen1 cars (but look stupid, imho) but the wiring is different so the switch to move the seats moves them backwards or up/down mixed up with front/back - I don't recall exactly which.

the gen3 rear seat does not fit in a gen1 or gen2.

The bumper cover is not the same, use an 89 to 91 bumper cover.

The gen 1 interiors are the nicest of the lot, but I hear you about the bad condition. I had an 89 that was in rediculous condition. It looked like it was a home to racoons.
Pretty well any ford "seat" (the part that looks like a chair) of the same general era will bolt up to your steel frame power seat mechanical system, so that is your best bet to avoid any wiring issues.

interior/bumper

Sunday i got a 91 front bumper cover from a fellow SHO forum member just an hour away,i think i can live with the interior for the time being as its not as bad as i had first thought,i just picked it up today as it was at a friends shop for the last 3 days being gone over because it had been in storage for a couple of years,it went there straight after i bought it,it now runs & stops great.

For some reason I was thinking you picked up an 89, so I thought my bumper was going to match color-wise. Once you sent me that picture I realized it was Moca. I'm still pretty jealous at how nice the body is on that thing.

There are two easy places to look for that code. Pop the trunk and you will see the black module on the drivers side hanging right behind the rear seat cushion. It should have your code on it. Those year SHOs should have a white sticker on the far end of the trunklid that reads the code also, but who knows if it's still there.
