Has anyone else had this part go bad? I just had one replaced but it still seems as if the same problem occurs(Stalling when hot). I have it back at the dealer(the dealer was cheaper then most of the garages around here). Are alot of these defective or what? Also, with the car running when it gets to normal temp and the fan turns on, sometimes, when the hood is shut, the engine will surge and there will be a slight grinding noise coming from the drivers side.Any hints at what the problem might be?

Heat affected fuel pump operation is most likely the fuel pump itself. If you don't hear the integrated control module clicking the fuel pump's relay, then the module is either not working right or not getting power. Only if the module's relay isn't operating is it the cause.

The noise sounds like the A/C compressor engaging. The rmps will surge due to the EEC opening the IAC valve to bump the engine rpms a little to comensate for the extra load. The grinding noise would not be a good thing when the compressor engages though.

Maybe I should clarify one thing. When the car is running(once it gets up to normal temp), and the hood is up, once I shut the hood, thats when the idle surges & I can hear the grinding sound(the A/C isn't on). Once the IRCM was replaced , the car did run, up until it got up until the car got hot & the fans kicked on.
