you have discovered the secret why ATX's are faster!!

( just kidding! its just a casting change, maybe less material driven, does not make any difference really!)

Holy blurry pictures, Batman!

Those are the cross-over pipes, and not much air flows through those - they just ensure pressure balance from the front to the rear intake.

Thats weird, I think you have them backwards? I have a 3.0 MTX 1994 and my intake crossover over tube is the one on the right that has the wider hole.

i think some ones tampered with your intake lol

So I have a 3.2L Intake system? How can I tell if the valves and cams are 3.2 also? I bought this car in CT a few years ago and they never mentioned it.

does it have serpentine drive for the accesories or is it multi belt?

for all you know they just swapped the intake, or they were lazy and instead of swapping a DIS they swapped the entire crossover tube.

Mine is a 94 mtx and is the same way. Its been a 2 owner car and the intake is original. I've seen atx's and mtx's with this crossover...I dont think it is specific to the 3.2 or 3.0.

My 93 ATX has the wide open crossover tube, but has a very small hole in the rubber boots that clamp around the crossover. My 92 MTX(obviously) has the narrower crossover opening, but wide open boots that clamp around the crossover. I guess yamaha wanted there to be some sort of restriction through the crossover, because the hole in the 93 boot is about the same as the hole in the 92 crossover. I don't remember my 94 atx having the restricted crossover or boots however...
