Ford's discontinued the input shaft front bearing (E9DZ-7025-A) for the MTX tranny. Anyone know of an alternative? If so, where can we get one overnighted from?

Thanks so much.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, shomethe$$$.

Thanks so much for the dimensions! Maybe we can find a company making bearings with those dimensions.

Well, dang... That's the smaller bearing. Unfortunately, it's the other bearing (the bigger one) that I need. Thanks for trying, though. Much appreciated it.

I think the bigger bearing is pretty hard to find, but I could be wrong. The threads I read about it were old threads, so maybe Timken started making them later than those posts.

Nice. Where do you find this crap?? I scour the net and find nothing. lol

I emailed SHONut right when I started looking for the bearing. Josh replied with something like, "It's obsolete. I know of no alternative."

I'll try those other two you found. Thanks!

I went and checked the ones you posted. That's a different part number. I'm looking for: E9DZ-7025-A. The one you posted from eBay is: E3FZ-7025-A

When I called Ford after first searching for this bearing by part number, they said it was obsolete and their system couldn't find any in the U.S.

I tried your link to www.partsvoice.com/partsearch just now. Same thing--none found.

All of the threads I've read on this subject have said it's no longer available and you just have to get it off of a used input shaft, which is a pain. But if that's what has to be done, that's fine.

Thanks for your help!

Is this the bearing that Texantony is looking for to finish the HD gearset?

Your not gonna find that one, you can find the cup but not the bearing, like I stated above. Getting one off used one would be pointless because that bearing maybe jammed onto the shaft, unlike the mainshaft which slides right off (even this one seizes on the shaft). So your only other option is get the next size standard bearing which is a LM48549, both of these use a LM48510 cup and then get a bushing made. These bushing's are very close to what you need.

Thanks, man. That's an interesting solution.

So the outside dimensions are exactly the same, but the inside cup is just a little bigger?

Yes, its the exact same cup as the E9DZ-7025-A, which is 65.088mm. The inside cone (or cup if you want to call it that) for the E9DZ-7025-A has an ID of 31.95mm (the diameter of your input shaft). However, that cone is impossible to find so the next size cone is for a 34.925mm shaft. Which is the LM48549. Hope this helps.
