I just purchased a 2015 sho with only 44k miles for 19,800. However, I noticed the climate controls and volume **** buttons seem to look different than all the other sho's ive s. The screen functions seem to all be the same as a normal sho. Anyone have an idea of what this is?

I forget exactly what it's called, but that's the "non premium" sound system. The one without the Sony top-of-the-line.

seems like my car has none of the good options lol. I wonder how much better the sony sound system is. Im thinking of upgrading my speakers already. Thanks for the help!

Just get an aftermarket system and be done with it, or so I've read. The Sony system isn't all that ground-breaking. I like it, so to each his own. Unless you can get it really cheap, and do all the work yourself, it'd probably not be worth it.

I tried to order a SHO back in 2015 without the massage seats, and no sun roof, but they stopped production just as I ordered it, and only resumed right after I gave up So I wound up with a dealer-lot fully-loaded one again. Poor me.

With some of the research I've been doing, 6x8 should fit in the front doors? Its hard to find information about the non sony system.

Yeah the Sony system in the SHO is junk. However the Sony system in my ST flat out rails. However, the acoustics in my ST is a lot better with all the glass and hatch. So I digress.

Yeah, the “premium” Sony system is nothing to aspire for. Over all pretty thin.
Now the THX in my old ‘14 MKS on the other hand, fairly outstanding. Wish it was put in the SHO.

No complaints with the Sony system in my '15. My favorite "feature" is the volume **** utilizes the entire volume range properly compared to other Fords I own.

On my F150 (also a Sync 2 system) the first four or five clicks on the volume **** take it from nothing to louder than normal, then the next 5 pretty much maxxes it out, and it's not even half way to max yet. They essentially wasted half of the adjustment range, so you have half the choices in volume levels that my SHO has.

If you want killer sound system, go buy an XC90 Excellence. I hear that it's sound system is 2nd to none.
