I have noticed that my SHO has been kind of sluggish lately and that I haven't been hearing that loudness at 3400rpms so I decided to open up the IMRC box and sure enough, there was the dreaded broken wheel/pulley. I am in a machine shop training course right now and was wondering if anyone has ever tried to make a replacement wheel/pulley out of aluminum? Seems like it could be done. I figure I can pull the wheel/pulley out of the box and it won't affect the engine, I mean, the whole thing isn't working anyway right. I may try to make this thing as a project. In the mean time, however........

How do you "wire" the secondaries open so the engine will run better and not act so bogged down?

Thanks for the input, I did search V8SHO but didn't come up with much, only about how to get to the IMRC box, how to get it open...etc. Great pics of the inside of the box, very clear and very helpful. I will tie the flies open for now, but I will at least try to make a better replacement part later this semester.
Thanks again

Zip Tied the secondaries open last night, runs like a champ now. No hesitation or bogging down. I did not have to remove much to do this, I removed the wiring harness bracket that is right above the water pump belt, then, with the IMRC box unbolted from the valve cover, I pulled the cable, opening the seconds completely, then snaked a zip tie around the rod which is connected to the springs and zipped it around the bracket that the cable runs through. Very easy! I bolted the IMRC box back on and left the cable in tact, I did however leave the box unplugged so it would not throw out a code. So far so good.:thumb:

Should I have said "I need for him to get some tuning"? :)

But I did have problems with cold open loop driving at temps below 20F or so. Colder it was the worse it was. This may have been due to my other intake mods though.

At any rate it is cured now and you would not ever know the difference except for the lack of sudden sound change at 3400 rpm with functioning secondaries .

You'll get yours....

This will some of the coldest air that has been around here for at least the last 10 years. Single digit highs for the SuperBearsBowl day.

Ya, Ya, Ya, thats what all you frozen middle of the country people always say... ;)

A Bears fan, I take it? I am sort of hoping that the Colts win, just so Manning can fully break the curse.

Gotta love that global warming that is going to fry or drown us all though, eh?

Ummm, I am in central Alabama and it really doesn't get toooooo cold here, I say that and it is 33 degrees outside now, I grew up in Florida so anything below 50 is Freakin' cold. Anyway, the car seems to be running really well.
