Book says this pin should have 4-7 volts. Mine reads.5

ICM picks up the misfires and sends them to the ecm.

Also my manifold grounding strap was not bolted up. Could this cause the module to go bad.

Anyhow the best price I found on the Motorcraft module is 198.00 new. Think I`m gonna get it. Hope this is the problem.

The grounding strap that connects to the manifold is actually there for noise suppression in the audio system and is noted that way in the HELMS. Don't think it will cause your problem.

Damn..I put on a new module and cleaned the surfaces with alcohol..still no start.
Timing belt is intact. No spark ....How do I test the coil pack? I have pulled a plug and grounded it..no spark however...Please assist.

With a poor grond to the DIS module, the engine has a very difficult time running. The ground strap is the one solid, non-rotating, non-rubber bushed metal connection between the engine and the car's body.

With no spark, there is question as to the function of the CID, CPS, DIS, EEC and coil pack in that order. You ruled out the DIS. If the CHECK ENGINE light goes out while the engine is cranking, the CID is okay. You can also check for 12 volts coming out of the front side of the DIS or going into the coil pack to determine if that is the problem. I think the CPS has a greater frequency of failure than all of the other parts in that list.

Have you checked the ECC codes? Might help point to the guilty component. Certainly nothing to lose.

Umm... I believe the Thunderbird SuperCoupe shares the DIS with our car and you should be able to get it at Napa.

Napa Part Number: MPETP57SB
Ford Part Number: E9DZ12A297A
Price: $69.99

I paid $150 for a used one, list is about $280 and your price of $198 is pretty damn good for OEM.

Yes the check engine lite goes out while cranking..I get 3-500 rpm on the tach...
Oil in plug wells..Yes I have 12 Battery(12) volts at the cooil pack and the Control module....
I also put my timing lite on the front side wires and never recieved a blink when cranking. The passenger side rear grounding strap was off..but was replaced to the upper manifold mount stud. I get code 111 and 111 in memory as well. system pass...should I get any idication of Crank sensor failure in code..or should I get rpm on the tach if it is bad? How can I test the coil pack?
What idf anything else could be causing the No spark No start situation? Good fuel pressure..and volume. Car ran well prior to this. I was almost in the driveway when It shut down....coasted in.

Thanks kind peoples..

Well I see from your info. you're from the South East. Maybe someone is close enough to lend a part or 2. Easier than throwing part after part at it or waiting for divine intervention.
See if anyone nearby can swap DIS, EEC, and Coil pack if it gets narrowed down that far.

So do you now have spark?? If not there is a connecter that plugs into the coil pack that has three wires on it there's a red one with a green tracer that goes through some connecters that ends up at your DIS module and your ICM module and then to your computer and if maybe a connecter isn't hooked up right then the car won't start at least that's what my problem was, that red and green wire should have 12v good luck and keep us posted tool shoot
